🇺🇸 NEW drug combo cuts the risk of dying by 58% in AGGRESSIVE lung cancers cases.
Amgen’s drug Imdelltra was added to AstraZeneca’s drug Imfinzi. The patients had small cell lung cancer that had already spread beyond the lung.
Half the patients on the combo lived at least 21 months. With Imfinzi alone, it was under 13.
Nearly 80% were alive after one year. Without Imdelltra, it was 53%.
It worked even when the cancer had spread to the brain or liver. That’s usually the worst news in this disease.
About 31,000 Americans get this cancer every year.
But these are early results. Everyone in the trial had already been through chemo with no sign of the cancer growing.
Amgen says this could almost turn the cancer into something people live with for years.
Investors noticed too, with Imdelltra sales up 115% in a year.
