Another diplomatic achievement: Israel joins the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) as a Forum Partner. The Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum, Baron Divavesi Waqa, has informed me that Israel has been accepted as a Forum Partner, following a decision at the meeting of the Forum’s member state leaders in Palau. This follows my visit to Fiji in June, where I met with the Secretary General and presented Israel’s request to join the Forum. Strengthening ties with the Pacific Island nations is one of my objectives. Earlier this year, I opened Israel’s Embassy in Fiji, which also serves nine other Pacific Island nations, all friendly to Israel. Under the current government, three of these countries, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Nauru, have opened embassies in Jerusalem. As a Forum Partner, Israel will participate in a framework for cooperation in areas of mutual interest, based on regional priorities and Israel’s expertise in water management, desalination, agriculture, tackling climate change, innovation and sustainable development. Israel and the Forum will also develop a joint action plan setting out practical areas of cooperation and a mechanism to monitor progress.

הישג מדיני נוסף: ישראל מצטרפת כשותפה לפורום איי האוקיינוס השקט (PIF). מזכ"ל פורום איי האוקיינוס השקט, ברון דיבאבסי ואקה הודיע לי על קבלת ישראל כשותפה בפורום (Forum Partner). ההחלטה התקבלה בכינוס ראשי המדינות החברות בפורום, שהתקיים בפלאו. ההודעה מגיעה בהמשך לביקורי בפיג'י מחודש יוני ולפגישתי שם עם מזכ"ל הפורום, בו הצגתי את בקשת ישראל להצטרף לפורום. העמקת הקשרים עם מדינות האיים באוקיינוס השקט היא אחד מיעדי. במסגרת זאת פתחתי השנה את שגרירות ישראל בפיג׳י הנותנת מענה (בנוסף לפיג׳י) ל-9 מדינות איים נוספות, הידידותיות לישראל. אציין, עוד כי במהלך הקדנציה האחרונה פתחו 3 מהן (פפואה גינאה החדשה, פיג׳י ונאורו) שגרירויות בירושלים. במסגרת מעמדה החדש, ישראל תשולב במסלול המאפשר שיתוף פעולה ממוקד בתחומים בעלי עניין משותף. שיתוף הפעולה יותאם לסדרי העדיפויות האזוריים ולתרומתה הייחודית של ישראל בתחומי ניהול משק המים, התפלת מים, חקלאות, מאבק בשינויי אקלים, חדשנות ופיתוח בר-קיימא. כחלק מהמנגנון החדש תגובש עם ישראל תוכנית פעולה, שתגדיר תחומי שיתוף פעולה מעשיים ותאפשר מעקב אחר התקדמות היישום.

I had a good call with Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, @sikorskiradek. We discussed the significant increase in Israeli tourism to Poland and opportunities to expand cooperation, dialogue, and investment between our countries. We also discussed the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East. I updated Minister Sikorski on the police investigation into the incident in Judea and Samaria involving several diplomats, including the Polish Consul.

The obsession of the British Labour Government with Israel seemingly knows no bounds. The days when Israel would quietly accept threats, sanctions and attempts to dictate its policies are over. Judea and Samaria are not foreign lands to the Jewish people. Our historical rights are not subject to approval from London. The British Labour Government would do better to address the serious challenges facing its own country rather than pursue its relentless campaign against the Jewish state. Israel will not be intimidated by threats. We will defend our rights and our national interests.

Iran’s FM cheers on unrest in France. A regime that executes protesters at home and exports terror abroad is now lecturing Paris on “freedom of assembly.” No one has forgotten the thousands of its own citizens that the Iranian regime massacred in January, or the oppression, violence and executions that continue to this day.

I was pleased to meet today in Jerusalem with Senator @SenRickScott, a true friend of Israel and the Jewish people. I thanked him for his longstanding support for our country, and we discussed the latest developments in the Middle East. I strongly condemn the severe acts of violence by Israeli rioters in the area of Taybeh. A police investigation has been opened, and forensic investigators from the Judea and Samaria District are already at the scene collecting evidence. The Foreign Ministry is in contact with the ambassadors of the countries concerned in order to assist the law enforcement authorities, who are working to identify the attackers and bring them to justice. Without detracting from the severity of the incident, it is unfortunate that the visit was not coordinated with the IDF in advance. Such coordination could have helped safeguard the visitors’ security.

An important and historic day in the relations between Israel and Colombia, and for Jerusalem, our capital. This morning, together with my friend, Colombia’s Foreign Minister @omarbula, I inaugurated the Embassy of Colombia in Jerusalem. I thank my friend, the President of Colombia @ABDELAESPRIELLA, who told me in Buenos Aires, long before his election: “If I am elected President, I will immediately move the Embassy of Colombia to Jerusalem.” He made a promise, and he kept it. This is the tenth embassy to open in Jerusalem. Since I took office less than two years ago, the number of embassies in our capital has doubled! I was pleased to meet today in Tirana with Prime Minister of Albania @ediramaal. Prime Minister Rama has led Albania continuously for 13 years, and in my opinion, is one of the most prominent and valued leaders in the world today. He is a clear and courageous voice on the international stage. He is also a steadfast friend of Israel, who has stood by our side in challenging times. We greatly appreciate his commitment to Israel's security and his resolute stand against antisemitism and terror. This was an in depth conversation about advancing relations between our countries, as well as about the situation in the Middle East and the Western Balkans. במהלך השנים האחרונות קראתי שוב ושוב בראיונות לתקשורת, בכנסים פומביים וברשתות החברתיות לסיים את סאגת משפט נתניהו. עשיתי זאת עוד ב-2023, בהיותי באופוזיציה. התיק הפך זה מכבר לגרוטסקה של אכיפת חוק. קו פרשת המים היה קריאת השופטים לשקול מחדש את סעיף השוחד, ממנה התעקשה התביעה להתעלם. במהלך המשפט נחשפו שוב ושוב כשלים חמורים ואף עבירות על החוק שבוצעו על ידי רשויות אכיפת החוק. התביעה טרחה לגייס לתיק מופרך זה לא פחות מ-3 (!) עדי מדינה. עבירת השוחד (על סעיף תקדימי של סיקור תקשורתי) נשרה עוד במהלך שמיעת התיק. היום התברר שהפרסומים הרלוונטיים שבבסיסה כלל לא נבחנו ע״י מי שחתם על כתב האישום. נותרנו עם העבירה העמומה של הפרת אמונים, שהולבשה, למשל, על אישום בגין עבירה לפי חוק המתנות כדי להעצימה. מאידך - כל אדם ששמע, כמוני, הבוקר רק את תחילת עדותו של היועץ המשפטי לממשלה לשעבר מנדלבליט, יודע שבוצעו עבירות פליליות (לרבות של הפרת אמונים) על ידי אנשי רשויות אכיפת החוק במהלך החקירה. כל זה קרה בחקירה נגד ראש ממשלה בישראל. התומכים בהמשך ניהול ההליך השיפוטי לא יוכלו להתעלם מכך שכעת הדבר משרת רק תכלית אחת: חשיפת האמת על אופן פעולת רשויות אכיפת החוק בפרשה וריסוק האמון הציבורי בהן עד דק. שש שנים וחצי של משפט (בערכאה ראשונה) שעדיין רחוק מסיומו ומה שנותר הוא רק הוכחה מובהקת לקיומו של מסע ציד, של רדיפה חסרת מעצורים נגד ראש ממשלה. אפשר לתמוך בהמשך כהונת נתניהו או להתנגד לכך. מהאמת אי אפשר עוד להתעלם.

Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian corrupt dictator, who has not held elections in over twenty years, has once again deceived the international community. His attempt to drag Israel into this, falsely claiming that Israel imposed obstacles to holding elections, is yet another ridiculous lie designed to evade responsibility and accountability. Just like the other lies about “reforms” that were never implemented — ending payments to terrorists and their families, and stoping incitement in the Palestinian education system. For over twenty years, Abbas has been selling the same thing: lies.

The Palestinian Authority hasn't held presidential elections since 2005 or legislative elections since 2006 Mahmoud Abbas is fooling the international community by canceling once again promised elections. His reform pledges to end “pay-for-slay” terrorist salaries and hate education remain empty too. They keep deceiving. Consequences? Not for the corrupt PA!

I am proud to see Israel return to Tier 1 in the U.S. State Department’s annual Trafficking in Persons Report. I thank Secretary of State @SecRubio and the @StateDept for recognizing Israel’s unwavering commitment to the highest standards in the fight against human trafficking. Israel is determined to combat this abhorrent phenomenon, protect its victims, and hold perpetrators accountable. We will continue to do everything necessary to lead this important fight.
