🇺🇸🇸🇦🇦🇪 The U.S. just told Americans in 12 Middle East countries to be ready for cancelled flights, closed airspace and sudden changes to their travel plans. The alerts cover Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Israel and Iran, warning that hostilities could spread and that Iran and its allies may target U.S. interests, including American businesses. They also flag Houthi strikes on Saudi airports and infrastructure, and Americans are being told to keep a low profile and steer clear of crowds and anywhere tied to the U.S. The alerts don’t mean airports are shutting down, but when Washington’s travel warning reads like a map of the whole region, maybe hold off on that Gulf getaway. 🇫🇷 Marine Le Pen urging immediate action against rioting in Paris, calling it an attack on France: "Behind every looted business lies the work of entire lives. Behind every police officer assaulted, behind every public servant threatened, it is the Republic itself that is attacked. France cannot, must not, and will never become accustomed to such scenes." Writer: Mhedi t.co/XZo8alQYNJ

🇫🇷 Marine Le Pen promising she would take the NECESSARY action to eliminate riots as president: "The first principle I will apply is responsibility, with the rule: the rioter pays. Whoever breaks the law must answer for their actions. Whoever causes damage must pay for it. Anyone who attacks public property, businesses, or representatives of the state must know that the Republic will not back down. Justice must be swift and effective, and criminal and financial penalties must be genuinely enforced and deliberately deterrent." It may be COMMON SENSE to make sure the CRIMINAL is the one who suffers instead of the VICTIM, but in today's mad world, that suggestion will get you labelled 'far-right.' 🇫🇷 "We undoubtedly failed this weekend." That's France's Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin, admitting the government got caught flat-footed by the riots and pointing to "flaws in the intelligence." Nonetheless, he's still standing by Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez, the man in charge of the police. So who pays for that failure, the ministers or the shop owners left sweeping up the glass? 🇮🇱🇬🇧 Netanyahu called it the “Islamic Republic of Britain” back in August. Now it’s just “Islamist Britain,” and this time he’s going after its speech police. “Look at what they do in Islamist Britain now. Do you know that 3,000 Brits have been brought to the dock, put on trial for tweeting this or that, and quite a few of them have gone to jail?” The label will make London fume, but the numbers back him up more than they’d like. 🇺🇸🇵🇸 Macklemore’s “Free Palestine” tour has landed him in hot water again. Ed Sheeran’s tour dropped him, so Macklemore hit back with his own “Free Palestine” tour. Dublin, Paris, London, with proceeds going to 12 organizations supporting Palestinians. The problem? One of them is the Palestinian Youth Movement. A speaker from the group was heard celebrating the October 7 attacks, and a spokesperson for its UK branch reportedly called the hostage-taking “legitimate.” Now a UK Jewish group wants Live Nation to explain how the organizations were checked. And with this group on the list, his critics have plenty more to go after him for. Source: Fox News / Writer: Daniyal

🇺🇸🇩🇪🇷🇺 Rubio is reviving the viral clip of German diplomats smirking at Trump’s Russia warning, and this time he’s the one laughing. “President Trump, in his first term, said that the Germans had left themselves vulnerable to Russian energy as a tool of blackmail in case of conflict. And they laughed. They mocked him. Our media mocked the president for saying that, and our media celebrated European leaders who laughed at the president. Well, guess what? That’s exactly what happened.” Back at the UN in 2018, the German delegation was caught smirking as Trump warned them. By the time Russia invaded Ukraine, Germany was getting more than half its gas from Moscow. Who’s laughing now? Writer: Julie t.co/jMpV84QMNG t.co/BrKb48pfDv

🇺🇸🇸🇦 The engineer accused of bugging an OpenAI executive conference room was chatting with a Saudi royal on WhatsApp just 4 days before his arrest, prosecutors say. The royal kept trying to lure him to a Saudi AI project, at one point telling him, "Saudi needs you more than the U.S!" His reply: "100." The bug was allegedly tucked behind a TV in a room where OpenAI execs were meeting with government officials around the same time. Once he was arrested, his wife and 3-month-old son flew out of the U.S. business class, courtesy of a member of the Saudi military. Prosecutors don't claim the royal told him to plant anything, but they want him locked up without bail, saying he has the connections to flee. A judge decides today. Source: CNBC / Writer: Julie

🇺🇸🇮🇷🇵🇸 Rubio says the Middle East’s problems basically come down to one thing: Iran’s clerics. “If there were no radical Shia clerics in Iran, if they didn’t exist, if that wasn’t there, none of these problems would exist. You may still have a Palestinian issue. I would argue that issue would be easier to deal with if Iran didn’t exist.” Maybe so, but the Palestinian issue had a 31-year head start before the clerics took power in 1979, and nobody managed to solve it then either. 🇦🇱 Protests have spiraled out of control in Albania, with one police officer engulfed in FLAMES during anti-government chaos in the capital. The unrest is part of a growing movement demanding Prime Minister Edi Rama's resignation over corruption allegations, rising living costs, university expenses and limited job opportunities. Clashes have intensified since October 13, with government buildings and police facilities attacked and set ablaze. Authorities have arrested around 1,000 people so far. 🇺🇸🇪🇺 Marco Rubio arguing that Europe's self-destructive energy policies set the groundwork for the Ukraine war: "Their dependence on Russian energy is one of the reasons why Putin went into Ukraine because he thought he could. Because he believed Europe wasn't going to do anything about it. So, I hope they've learned that lesson. It seems like they are now, but reversing 20 years of green hyperbole, neglecting domestic energy development, and overreliance on one energy source takes time." Writer: Mhedi t.co/k3Oa2mPNkP

Neuralink is becoming as much a part of patients' daily routine as getting out of bed. For people living with ALS, that means being able to control a computer through their thoughts throughout the day. Think about being able to send a message, browse the internet, or handle everyday tasks when your body can no longer do what you ask it to. An extension of the body. A lifeline that can give people back some independence. Millions of people will one day benefit from that same freedom. @Neuralink / Writer: Annette, Designer: Janné

Starlink just picked up a pretty impressive second job. Helping cars navigate without GPS. Its thousands of satellites can provide positioning signals, while Tesla is developing ways to make vehicle location tracking even more precise. Very useful when GPS signals get weak, jammed or unreliable. Another way for a self-driving car to know exactly where it is. The more reliable that positioning becomes, the better equipped autonomous vehicles are to handle tricky conditions. Internet from space was already impressive. Now the satellites are helping with directions too. @Starlink @SpaceX @Tesla / Writer: Annette, Designer: Janné

Slovakia just gave Tesla FSD Supervised the green light. That's nine EU countries now. The rollout is coming soon, bringing Tesla's advanced driving assistance to more European roads. Think busy intersections, tricky turns, stop-and-go traffic and long drives, with the car helping handle the driving while you stay in control. Every new approval means more people get access to the technology and more real-world experience across different roads and driving conditions. Quite a nice collection of European driving experience building up here. @Tesla / Writer: Annette, Designer: Janné

🇺🇸🇷🇺 Marco Rubio on pessimism that the Russian war can be settled with diplomacy: Reporter: "What evidence do you actually have that Putin is open to peace talks?" Rubio: "What evidence? This is not a criminal case. This is about diplomacy. In diplomacy, you continue to try.
