Tensions eased soon after. The group later drafted a peace outline that Putin reportedly marked up, but Kyiv rejected it. The channel collapsed in early 2023 after Sullivan, fmr Biden's Security Advisor, reportedly disowned it. Today, a local humanitarian pause is set for next week, with new technical talks being discussed, but the war is still active. Unofficial channels got a hearing when the nuclear risk felt real.
