🇨🇳🇳🇱🇨🇦 China says it bought 65 TONNES of gold in 4 months. Goldman Sachs estimates 148. That's one hell of a difference! From May through August, Goldman reckons Beijing bought more than DOUBLE what it officially reported. Even August's 25 tonnes was higher than China's declared 20, and that was the smallest gap in months! And the official numbers are hardly modest. China has been buying gold for 23 straight months, with September marking its biggest monthly purchase in nearly 3 years. Beijing isn't alone in this gold rush. Goldman estimates central banks worldwide snapped up 79 tonnes in August, more than 4 TIMES their pre-2022 monthly average of 17. But they’re not just buying gold, they're also moving what they already hold OUT of North America. The Dutch central bank shifted 86 tonnes of gold reserves from New York and Ottawa to London, citing growing geopolitical unrest. Gold holdings at the New York Fed also fell by 40 tonnes in August alone. Nobody's officially breaking up with the dollar. But central banks seem awfully interested in having a VERY shiny Plan B. 🇺🇸 The Pentagon and Lockheed just shook on a 10-year, 850-jet F-35 deal worth tens of billions Production stays at 156 a year, Lockheed kicks in $7 billion for unspecified "initiatives," and nobody has said what the whole thing costs or saves. Congress still has to sign off, the House wants proof of at least 5% savings plus full spare parts on every jet, and neither chamber has authorized the decade of maintenance that's half the point. A previous five-year maintenance deal died because nobody could show it saved money or improved readiness. The Air Force told Congress yesterday it needs 1,509 combat-ready fighters by 2035 after losing 81 airframes to Iran. The answer this week is a deal that locks in the same output for ten years, on a jet whose newest copies are parked for training because the upgrade isn't cleared for combat. 🇫🇷 Tucker says the first thing you notice in the Paris riot footage is that MOST of the people DON'T LOOK FRENCH He argues that many people in the clips appear to have African or North African backgrounds, pointing to France’s colonial history and decades of immigration from French-speaking African countries. His broader argument is that France stopped tracking origins as immigration accelerated, making the scale of the change harder to measure. When you bring in large numbers from places that have long struggled with stability, he argues, the conditions tend to follow. The footage, in his view, simply makes the demographic shift impossible to ignore. Source: @TCNetwork / Writer: Lucas

🚨🇺🇸 Palmer Luckey and the man who brought back the dire wolf are building CAPTAIN AMERICA PUPS... $200 million worth of cloned and gene-edited good boys for the Pentagon The problem Warhound is solving is real: the Pentagon runs 2,200 dog teams, buys 80% of them from Europe while bidding against China and Russia for the same litters, and has to purchase 200 dogs to field 100 because the rest wash out with bad hips, bad eyes or cancer. Warhound biobanks the best Malinois and Shepherds that already passed, clones them, edits out the career-ending genes, and straps on Anduril armor, eye and ear protection and goggles tied into its battlefield network so dog, handler and drones share one picture. First dogs in two years, sold as “Canine-as-a-Service,” with the Humane Society certifying training and reuniting retirees with their handlers. Anyone who has worked next to a military dog knows they find what sensors miss and go where machines can’t, and losing half of them to genetics before they deploy is a waste the troops have eaten for decades. Lamm calls it the Captain America dog program. A $1.2 billion valuation for the goodest boys ever made, and WORTH EVERY CENT. Source: TechCrunch / Writer: Daniel

🚨🇮🇷🇺🇸 Eight months of bombing produced the exact Iran Washington said it wanted to prevent: one run by the Revolutionary Guard, with nobody left who can sign a deal A new Carnegie and Brookings assessment counts 17 or 18 of Tehran's 20 most powerful figures as hardliners, most of them Guard veterans, and finds that plenty of them can order an escalation while none has the standing to authorize a concession. The supreme leader who could was killed in the opening weeks. That's the bill for the decapitation strategy, and it's coming due in real time. The vice president admitted to Reuters this month that Washington doesn't know who makes decisions in Tehran. The WSJ reported Thursday that parliament just handed the defense ministry to one of the architects of Iran's ballistic program, and that Iranian officials told mediators the next round means sinking US warships. Pressure was supposed to make the regime bend. It made the regime the Guard, and the Guard doesn't bend. The post-midterm strike plan only works if someone in Tehran can pick up the phone and surrender... which is why Trump keeps saying he went too far, because every new strike kills another man who might have made that call. So who’s left to say uncle? Source: Carnegie Endowment / Brookings / Reuters / WSJ / Writer: Daniel

🚨🇮🇷🇺🇸 Satellite images show Iran rebuilding its "Eagle 44" mountain airbase 100 miles from Hormuz after three rounds of US strikes... with a new taxiway already paved Planet Labs imagery from late September shows the runway cleared of obstacles, bombed equipment bulldozed off the pavement and fresh concrete leading into the ridge tunnels where Phantoms, drones and possibly cruise missiles are stored. The tunnel entrances look intact. The Pentagon has never named the base; Iran has never admitted it was hit. Hegseth said in April the air force was "wiped out" and the missile program "functionally destroyed." Both can be true about March and still miss what's happening now: 50 of 69 struck tunnel entrances were reportedly cleared by May, a Western official told Bloomberg this month Iran is "well-stocked" with missiles, and Tehran is spending scarce concrete on a base for a fleet Trump says no longer exists. Either the regime is building for show, or the strike plan for November is about to find out what's behind those doors. Source: The War Zone / Planet Labs / Writer: Daniel

🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran told mediators that if the US strikes again it will try to sink American warships, kill their crews, and hit airports and pipelines across every Gulf state The threats went through diplomatic channels as well as state TV, and the Journal's sources say they're backed by hundreds to thousands of ballistic missiles plus limited new production in underground plants. Tehran did the first version of this in March, wrecking Fifth Fleet headquarters, a Qatari gas plant and airports in three countries, and its September missiles came close to US ships. The Pentagon says it destroyed 90% of Iran's missile and drone industry. Iran just appointed the father of its ballistic program as defense minister. Those two facts don't both get to be the whole story, and with interceptor stocks already drained on every side, the fleet sailing in for November is the one that unfortunately finds out which is closer to true... 🇩🇪🇷🇺 Merz puts the war with Russia AHEAD of the economy, and that makes AfD look like the rational one The Chancellor says Russia’s impact on German society worries him more than the economy, as industry struggles with high energy costs and weak growth. AfD keeps emphasizing energy security, industrial competitiveness, and economic growth over security-driven priorities. Declaring the main country that still supplies a large part of your energy as the top priority to fight against doesn’t look especially smart either. When the governing side keeps ranking the war first, the party that stays fixed on the economy starts sounding like the more practical option in the room. Writer: Lucas t.co/sie8lGdQg5

🇺🇸🇮🇷🇮🇱 Photos of Iran's strikes on Gulf bases show the hangars where America keeps its spare parts burned... which leaves the US Navy with a one and done war Those canopies in Bahrain and the UAE held the parts that keep jets flying, so planes now go feet dry with no repair line behind them, flying from carriers parked so far out that the sortie math barely works. Bobby Jones, retired Navy commander, says the enemy below the surface is the number one threat to anyone on a ship: "That sub can be involved in all the other areas of warfare while making you the primary target." An unlocated sub pulls a ship or two plus aircraft off the blockade just to hunt it, and a carrier turning into the wind to launch can't maneuver. Bobby expects Israel to open the next round on a weekday, when a state of emergency can still land before October 27. @WeTheBrandon
