Eisenhower, and they didn't wait for the military-history specialists who normally handle such artifacts. They lost control of the 30-inch globe, which crashed onto its base, detached from its mounting and suffered a gash several inches wide. The Army confirmed the artifact was damaged during an attempted move on February 3. The globe ultimately stayed where it was.
