Ben-Gvir already occupies a senior ministerial position in the present government. Any future elevation in rank would simply reflect the number of Knesset seats his party is expected to win, not some special reward. As matters stand he is projected to lead the second-largest right-wing party, which is the sole reason for Netanyahu’s pledge. Reward plays no part in the calculation whatsoever.

The Second Chechen War started in 1999 under President Boris Yeltsin (with Vladimir Putin acting as Prime Minister) and officially ended in 2009 under President Dmitry Medvedev (when Russia's National Anti-Terrorism Committee declared the end of the counter-terrorism operation).
