🇨🇳 China’s stock market just slid into a BEAR MARKET, with $2.4 trillion wiped out since May, and Beijing’s rescue squad can’t stop the bleeding.
The CSI 300, China’s main index, dropped as much as 2.2% today, putting it 20% below its June high.
Hong Kong’s tech index got hit even harder, plunging as much as 5.3%, its biggest drop since July, with Alibaba among the casualties.
Chinese shoppers still aren’t spending much, and investors are starting to wonder whether all that AI money will ever pay off.
Beijing’s so-called “national team” of state-backed funds has been stepping in to prop up stocks, with trading in its favored ETFs hitting $7.8 billion today.
Analysts say that won’t be enough without a serious stimulus package.
Beijing keeps buying the dip. The dip keeps getting bigger.
