🇺🇸 The FCC is warning U.S. TV networks they could be breaking the rules by airing fake election polls.
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr says there's been a surge in polls meant to mess with voter turnout ahead of November's midterms.
And he's warning broadcasters that airing them could break the FCC's news distortion rules.
But here's the thing. He didn't name a single poll he thinks is fake.
Even his own agency isn't fully on board. Democratic Commissioner Anna Gomez says a poll being wrong doesn't make it fake. Someone has to be deliberately misleading viewers.
And with Trump already pushing Carr to crack down on broadcasters, this could open up another fight over what TV networks can air.
