🇺🇸🇷🇺 Trump says holding off on new Russia sanctions helped FREE an American imprisoned by Moscow...
POTUS says critics who demanded immediate sanctions have since apologized, because they didn't know he was negotiating for Stephen Hubbard, the 74-year-old American designated as wrongfully detained.
Russia released Hubbard today after more than 4 years in custody... allegedly for helping Ukraine.
Trump says he personally asked Putin to release Hubbard and that the U.S. gave nothing in return, no prisoner swap of any kind.
His argument: sometimes delaying pressure on Moscow gives diplomacy room to deliver.

@MarioNawfal Quiet diplomacy saved a life; sanctions can wait for real talks: Both your perspective and his @magaamerica1965 perspective are worth learning from.
