According to CNN, the proposal was pulled within hours after senior officials discovered it hadn't been authorized. The awkward part? DHS has already spent more than $1.6 billion on aircraft and aviation contracts, including a fleet purchased for deportations that has barely been used. Then you spend another $100 to $300 a month on supplements because apparently losing weight now comes with a shopping list. Nearly HALF of GLP-1 users have started taking additional vitamins and supplements, while America's supplement industry has ballooned past $74 BILLION. And naturally, TikTok influencers have arrived to sell everyone the solution. Some of these products may help with genuine nutritional needs. Others come with questionable claims and little regulatory scrutiny. The FDA is now considering tighter oversight. 🇺🇸 The U.S. Justice Department just charged 28 foreign nationals in California for allegedly voting when they weren't allowed to They all have green cards, so they live in the U.S. legally but aren't citizens. They're accused of pretending to be citizens to sign up to vote, and most of them allegedly went ahead and voted. 🇺🇸🇮🇷 America's next strike on Iran could put its aircraft carriers in the firing line. I spoke with former Navy SEAL Matt Bracken about reports that a third U.S. aircraft carrier and thousands of Marines are heading toward the Middle East. He sees a dangerous gamble developing. American carriers need to stay far enough from Iran to avoid its missiles. But that distance makes launching sustained airstrikes much harder, with aircraft spending more time refueling and less time attacking. Move the carriers closer, and they become more vulnerable. Bracken's biggest concern is whether Iran has developed missiles capable of tracking and striking moving warships. He doesn't know if it has, and neither side is revealing its full capabilities. But he reminded me of something worth remembering: military history is full of supposedly invulnerable weapons that suddenly weren't. Then our conversation took an unexpected turn toward Ethiopia, Eritrea and the Red Sea. Bracken believes another dangerous conflict is developing there, driven by Ethiopia's need for access to the sea, its growing control over Nile waters and rival regional alliances. What struck me is how many military flashpoints are now converging around the same shipping routes. Washington is concentrating enormous firepower near Iran while conflicts around the Red Sea threaten to become even more complicated. He thinks most of them actually arrive with decent intentions. The problem, in his view, is the system they enter. Money, lobbying, political pressure and control over institutions gradually shape what politicians are willing to do. Paul’s point is almost painfully simple: We expect ordinary people not to lie, cheat, steal or kill. Then we create a government structure where power somehow makes those same rules negotiable.
