🇺🇸 Ron Paul says Congress teaches you the rules almost immediately:
Join the team, raise the money, play ball.
Or get pushed aside.
He remembers being offered committee influence and fundraising help during his first week, and says the message was obvious: the system would reward cooperation.
Most politicians, in his view, don’t arrive corrupted.
They get absorbed.
Money, committee power, party pressure and the fear of becoming the next Thomas Massie gradually do the work.
Paul’s broader point is harsher than just “Congress is broken.”
He thinks political corruption and monetary corruption come from the same place: too much power concentrated in systems ordinary people stop questioning.
And once that happens, the bill eventually shows up in debt, inflation and war.
