🇺🇸 Wisconsin is facing some big questions about voter citizenship checks just weeks before the midterms. A viral report claims the Wisconsin Elections Commission has barred roughly 1,800 municipal clerks from using the federal SAVE database to verify citizenship. Sen. Mike Lee reacted: “That sounds like Wisconsin really wants to facilitate election fraud.” The Supreme Court allowed the expanded SAVE system to resume on September 25. I mean, election integrity shouldn't be this hard to get straight answers about. Writer: Lynn t.co/JCVxfsDC6a

🇫🇷 RIOTING, LOOTING AND DESTRUCTION SPREAD ACROSS MAJOR CITIES IN FRANCE Paris, Marseille, Lyon. The scenes are extraordinary. Shops have been smashed and looted, vehicles set ablaze, and police are battling masked rioters in the streets. In Marseille, protesters even forced their way into City Hall before police drove them out. In Lyon, a tourist office caught fire as firefighters responded under police protection. France is demanding answers to its economic problems. Instead, parts of its major cities are ending the day looking like battlefields. Writer: Oliver t.co/hhTqYiSNv9

🇬🇧 COVID-19 hospital admissions in England have jumped 41% in just 2 weeks. The NHS is now treating around 400 more COVID patients than it was 2 weeks ago. Deaths are up 46% in a week too. People aged 85 and older are being hit the hardest, with hospital admission rates over 10 times the national average. The variant is called Stratus, but so far, there's no evidence it makes people sicker than earlier variants. And flu is another problem. It's showing up earlier than usual, with positive tests in September doubling from last year. COVID and flu levels are still low overall, but hospitals could have a busy winter ahead with both viruses spreading. Source: Daily Mail / Writer: Daniyal

🇫🇷 Cars fully torched on a side street right by Place de la République in Paris today, during the big cost-of-living protests. I get that people are angry about prices. Rent, food, fuel, everything’s brutal right now. But how does setting random cars on fire actually change any of that? Just turns someone’s daily transport into scrap and makes the whole thing look like chaos instead of a real demand. Does this bring prices down or just make the story about the fires? 🇵🇸🇮🇱🇧🇪 Israeli settlers WENT AFTER a Belgian diplomatic car near Taybeh, the last fully Christian Palestinian village, during the olive harvest. A convoy of diplomats from France, Belgium, and Poland was out supporting local farmers when settlers pulled up and targeted the vehicles. The army didn’t say anything yet. 🇫🇷 THE YELLOW VESTS ARE BACK IN THE HEART OF PARIS Protesters climbed the enormous statue at Place de la République and unfurled a banner accusing police of injuring high school students. 🇺🇸🇷🇺 Trump has waived huge new tariffs on Russia and its oil buyers, just weeks after signing them into law. Last month, he signed the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act, a tough new law against Russia. It called for 500% tariffs on Russian goods, and 100% tariffs on countries buying the most Russian oil and gas. But Trump's new order waives almost all of it, in the name of national interest. The new tariffs are gone for now, and so are most of the new sanctions. Existing Russia sanctions under earlier executive orders stay. Just yesterday, Putin's envoy complained the new law would block U.S.-Russia business deals. Turns out he had nothing to worry about, at least for now. Source: White House / Writer: Daniyal

🇮🇱🇵🇸🇺🇬 NETANYAHU is open to a PALESTINIAN STATE IN UGANDA This one lands with an extraordinary historical twist on top. More than 120 years ago, it was Jewish settlers who were being offered a homeland in East Africa. In 1903, Britain proposed territory in what is now Kenya to Zionist leader Theodor Herzl. They called it the Uganda Scheme. And this wasn't some passing idea. The Zionist Congress actually voted to send an expedition to investigate the land before ultimately rejecting the proposal in 1905 and keeping its focus on Palestine. A century ago, East Africa was being considered as a refuge for Jews. Now it's being floated as a possible destination for Palestinians. History doesn't repeat itself quite so neatly. But sometimes the parallels are just incredible. Source: Israel’s Channel 14 / Writer: Oliver t.co/NsqmXzN3Hz

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Trump: "If you are in doubt about somebody's name from the Middle East, just say Mohammed. You have about a 65% chance. I've done it for years now. I've never been wrong." Doesn't matter who's across the table. Mohammed it is. Honestly that explains a few things about where the Iran negotiations are going. 😂😭 Writer: Oliver

🇫🇷 FRANCE IS ERUPTING BEYOND PARIS Anger over rising living costs, fuel prices and education reforms is spilling into cities across the country. Police have been preparing for hundreds of protest actions and more than 80 marches. In Paris, officers have deployed tear gas. Elsewhere, roads are blocked and barricades are going up. And what's interesting is who's coming together. Students, workers and unions are protesting over different grievances, but much of that frustration is aimed at the same government. It's starting to bring back memories of the Yellow Vests, when anger over fuel prices grew into something far bigger. France has been through this before. And once people feel their government has stopped listening, getting them off the streets becomes a whole different problem. Writer: Oliver t.co/mEAA0gk3M5

Everyone seems convinced the Iran war is about to restart. I've been a lone wolf claiming the war is over since Trump made the threats to wipe out Iran's civilization on April 7th Days later, a ceasefire was announced. Since then, we've seen sporadic fighting, but with 95% fewer strikes than during the war itself. The war never returned to anything close to the intensity we saw in March. But things are changing. The U.S. is conducting a massive military build-up. Israel and Iran are on high alert. And Iran has now struck more ships in the Strait of Hormuz than it did at any other time since the war. Almost every indicator points to a repeat of February 28 and a full-scale resumption of the war. Yet I still believe the war is over. My prediction is that Trump will instead launch a limited, largely symbolic strike to further degrade Iran's capabilities, declare victory, and move on. The reason is simple: There is no military solution to the Iran problem. Iran reportedly has almost as many missile launchers as it did before the war (400 vs. 420). It's rapidly rebuilding its missile stockpiles, while U.S. regional bases and radar systems have sustained significant damage, and interceptor inventories are critically depleted. The massive U.S. military build-up is more likely intended to deter a major Iranian retaliation following a limited strike than to prepare for another prolonged war. Trump wants out of the region. But Iran has made that extremely difficult by seeking control over the Strait of Hormuz. Trump tried to force Tehran to concede, and failed. In my view, his remaining choices are to accept Iran's position and walk away, escalate into another war with no clear military solution, or resort to the unthinkable: nuclear weapons. And unlike some, I don't believe Trump is crazy enough to use a nuclear warhead. So I stand by my assessment: The war is over. But here's an important caveat: I'm significantly less confident in that prediction than I was before. Iran's increasingly maximalist demands have changed the equation, and the probability that I'm wrong is now higher than at any point since I made this call. I could be wrong, but I'm not changing my assessment simply because the overwhelming consensus has moved in the opposite direction.

🇾🇪🇸🇦 The Houthis are capturing Saudi-backed military vehicles in Yemen, apparently while chewing khat. Footage circulating from Yemen reportedly shows Houthi fighters casually taking possession of vehicles belonging to the Saudi-backed Presidential Leadership Council. And the fighters appear remarkably relaxed about the whole thing. Some are reportedly chewing khat, a stimulant plant widely consumed in Yemen. Meanwhile, the Houthis are advancing against Saudi-backed forces, cutting off strategic roads and tightening their grip around Taiz. Saudi Arabia is fighting to contain a growing military threat, while its opponents are apparently treating captured vehicles like souvenirs from an afternoon drive. 🇺🇸 A former U.S. Army sniper claims AMERICAN SPECIAL FORCES FOUGHT REPTILIAN BEINGS In a secret underground base NEAR AREA 51 And somehow the story gets even crazier. Nick Betts says an elite JSOC operator told him about an emergency mission to investigate a secret facility that had suddenly gone silent. The first team sent inside allegedly disappeared. A second team arrived carrying advanced energy weapons, only to encounter three reptilian-looking creatures armed with the same technology. According to the account, one American soldier was killed before the creatures were eliminated. His body was allegedly cremated, the death disguised as a training accident, and the survivors ordered to keep quiet. And here's the part Betts says convinced him. When he questioned another operator about the incident, the man allegedly grabbed him by the throat and threatened him. There's just one rather important detail: The entire story came from an unnamed soldier during a night of HEAVY DRINKING in Poland... Source: Daily Mail, Insider Paper / Writer: Oliver
