🇮🇱🇵🇸🇺🇬 NETANYAHU is open to a PALESTINIAN STATE IN UGANDA
This one lands with an extraordinary historical twist on top.
More than 120 years ago, it was Jewish settlers who were being offered a homeland in East Africa.
In 1903, Britain proposed territory in what is now Kenya to Zionist leader Theodor Herzl. They called it the Uganda Scheme.
And this wasn't some passing idea.
The Zionist Congress actually voted to send an expedition to investigate the land before ultimately rejecting the proposal in 1905 and keeping its focus on Palestine.
A century ago, East Africa was being considered as a refuge for Jews. Now it's being floated as a possible destination for Palestinians.
History doesn't repeat itself quite so neatly. But sometimes the parallels are just incredible.
