The Houthis hold most of north Yemen, and government held Marib city has been the target of their ground offensive. In a statement, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the drone was carrying out “hostile activities” in the governorate’s airspace and was brought down with a “suitable weapon,” without giving further details. Khalid Aljabri says Saudi authorities took his brother Omar and sister Sarah and made them disappear as leverage against their father Saad, who lives in exile in Canada. Human Rights Watch says the two were arrested at their Riyadh home in March 2020, held with no contact for about 10 months, then sentenced to nine and six and a half years. That strike hit three Kyiv power plants Wednesday, killed four people and wounded 25, and the four intercepts the Air Force reported were likely the last Patriots in the country. Zelensky has been saying this for months, told CNN in August he had a tenth of what he needs, and this week told the Financial Times he'd stop hitting Russian refineries for more interceptors "at a minimum." Instead, the State Department and Pentagon warned over the weekend that US intelligence sharing and European weapons purchases through the US pipeline could be suspended if the refinery strikes continue. Trump insists intelligence sharing hasn't stopped. The relationship was never really repaired after the Oval Office showdown in February 2025, when Trump and Vance dressed Zelensky down on camera and sent him home without lunch. Houthis control parts of the Yemeni coast and islands, and traffic through the strait is still way down. Recent attacks on Saudi Aramco sites and shipping in the area have kept the risk premium alive even as Gulf crude finds other paths. Saudi oil has been moving through the East-West pipeline to the Red Sea, which makes Bab-el-Mandeb attacks more relevant, not less. 🚨🇺🇸 A random bystander took down the Oregon school shooter in under three minutes... in a district that BANS guns on campus Three minutes. That's how long it took police to reach Silver Rail Elementary in Bend after a teenager with a long gun walked in, and by the time they got there he was already dead on the floor, killed by a civilian nobody has named yet. He'd already murdered a 5-year-old, an 8-year-old, an 11-year-old and their teacher. A 7-year-old and a 54-year-old teacher are fighting for their lives tonight. Here's the part the lawyers are going to fight over. Bend's school district banned every firearm on its property in 2022, permit holders included, and state law says a gun on campus has to be unloaded and locked in a car. Police won't say where the bystander was standing or whether he was supposed to have a gun at all. So the system said no guns, the killer brought one anyway, and the only thing that stopped him was someone who may have also broken the rule. Whatever the circumstances, the person is a HERO.
