🚨🇺🇸 Footage of the FIRE near Malibu, with OVER 100 ACRES and evacuations underway This is the Bryson Fire, separate from the Peak Fire earlier in Azusa. It started this afternoon near Encinal Canyon Road and Mulholland Highway and grew fast under the same Red Flag conditions. Wind gusts and low humidity are still driving the risk through Saturday. 🇺🇸🇨🇳 Chinese student at the University of Wyoming reportedly POISONED A COLLEAGUES TEA and tried to flee the country… Aili Wang, 32, was arrested on October 6th at LA airport while she was heading back to China. Police say she bought acrylamide on eBay and put it in the water her colleague used for tea. Surveillance caught her going through his desk and rinsing his mug with liquid from her own. She faces an aggravated assault charge and is being held without bail. The colleague had pending patents on disease-treatment tech, and the 2 apparently didn't get along… Source: The Guardian / Writer: Lucas

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Three carriers are steaming toward Iran as Washington talks up the MOAB... The MOAB is built to burn surface targets, and Iran’s launchers sit under rock, so the headline weapon of the next round can’t reach the thing it needs to kill, while the carriers meant to deliver the rest keep backing off until their fighters lose most of their time on station. Retired Navy Commander Bobby Jones says the Aegis defenses on those ships were built in the 1970s for open-ocean war against the Soviets and upgraded since, while the strait is a phone booth packed with cheap missiles built to overwhelm exactly that: “This is a battle of endurance that the United States is no longer positioned to win.” There are no minesweepers in the Gulf, and the Navy is stripping weapons off ships waiting to deploy to keep the ones out there armed... so the next round opens with a fleet running on parts it doesn’t have. @WeTheBrandon

🇾🇪🇮🇷 Iran may want oil prices higher, but the HOUTHIS are the ones STRETCHING THE MARKET right now through the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait The Red Sea route is the main workaround when Hormuz is tight. Houthis control parts of the Yemeni coast and islands, and traffic through the strait is still way down. Recent attacks on Saudi Aramco sites and shipping in the area have kept the risk premium alive even as Gulf crude finds other paths. Saudi oil has been moving through the East-West pipeline to the Red Sea, which makes Bab-el-Mandeb attacks more relevant, not less. The market has adapted to Hormuz, but the southern route is still the one that can push prices when it gets hit. Source: Bloomberg / Writer: Lucas

🇺🇸 Elon and Franz walked through the new Roadster, saying they wanted to BREAK THE LAWS OF PHYSICS 🤯 The seats are molded into the chassis, with steer-by-wire controlling the yoke, brakes, and throttle. The rear houses thrusters and fans designed to push cornering beyond 2G and accelerate beyond normal tire limits. The rear wing has variable pitch and switches between high downforce and low drag. @Tesla / Writer: Lucas

🚨Tesla’s new Roadster grew WINGS and claims F1-level downforce 🔥 The wings are driven by the Optimus actuator system. Tesla says it is the best passive downforce package of any road car. 🇺🇸Bend Police Chief Mike Krantz: “Unfortunately this is something we train for on a regular basis and we MUST.” Just this August, officers went through a full day of active threat training at a local high school. 🇨🇳 China is building 91% of the WORLD’S NEW SUPERTANKERS while its navy still faces the Strait of Malacca problem. Clarksons data shows Chinese shipyards took most new orders this year, including the bulk of the largest oil tankers. China Merchants and COSCO Energy already operate two of the world’s biggest tanker fleets. One company that only owns these giant tankers, DHT, has already locked in half its open days for the rest of the year at $509,100 a day. Alfred Thayer Mahan argued that sea control and chokepoints determine global power. China can build the ships, but most of its oil still passes through Malacca, a strait it doesn’t control. Building the fleet is one thing. Ensuring its oil reaches China without relying on another navy is the harder part. Source: World Ports, The Merchant News / Lucas

🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran has reportedly landed 135 strikes on 84 energy sites across 7 Gulf countries... and the jets meant to answer were barely 50% mission-ready before the war even started A Reuters survey, as relayed by former Marine and State Department official Matthew Hoh, puts the war's running damage to Gulf energy infrastructure far past anything officially admitted. The American side is flying on borrowed parts, with squadrons calling across the flight line to grab six jets before deploying, carriers kept 1,000 km off the Iranian coast, and 60-year-old tankers reportedly flying out of Israel across the whole Arabian Peninsula to meet them: "That's why you see this five weeks, six weeks, seven week breaks that they're taken." Only about 20 of the big bunker-busters were ever built, so the next round runs on exhausted crews and a thin shelf, ends when the maintenance bill comes due, and leaves Iran choosing what to hit in between. @WeTheBrandon @MatthewPHoh

🇺🇸 HERO father pursued gunman inside school to STOP attack He didn't hesitate to run toward the danger and took the shooter out before he could kill more. 🚨🇺🇸 A random bystander took down the Oregon school shooter in under three minutes... in a district that BANS guns on campus Three minutes. That's how long it took police to reach Silver Rail Elementary in Bend after a teenager with a long gun walked in, and by the time they got there he was already dead on the floor, killed by a civilian nobody has named yet. He'd already murdered a 5-year-old, an 8-year-old, an 11-year-old and their teacher. A 7-year-old and a 54-year-old teacher are fighting for their lives tonight. Here's the part the lawyers are going to fight over. Bend's school district banned every firearm on its property in 2022, permit holders included, and state law says a gun on campus has to be unloaded and locked in a car. Police won't say where the bystander was standing or whether he was supposed to have a gun at all. So the system said no guns, the killer brought one anyway, and the only thing that stopped him was someone who may have also broken the rule. Whatever the circumstances, the person is a HERO. 🇺🇸🇮🇷 The Pentagon reportedly has a MOTHER OF ALL BOMBS plan for Iran’s military sites The GBU-43/B MOAB is among the options for energy infrastructure and nuclear targets, including Pickaxe Mountain. The U.S. last used it in Afghanistan in 2017. The White House says all options remain open to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. Trump has said he won’t strike before the midterms, but the strike plans remain ready… Public pauses and talk of “productive talks,” while military options stay on the table. Classic. Source: CBS News / Lucas

🇺🇸 I guess they were doing viewer-submitted questions at the Maine Senate Debate tonight. A woman asked Sen. Collins if the U.S. democracy was under attack. She like an old lady who couldn't care less what will happen in 5 or 10 years: “I think our democracy will be just fine!” You think… but you’re not sure? Comforting! 🗑️🔥 Writer: Jamie t.co/91QFlOYMAT

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 Trump rules out nukes on Iran but won't deny the "mother of all bombs" plan: "We don't have to" Asked on Newsmax about CNN's report that the Pentagon has written the 21,600-pound MOAB into its Iran strike packages: "The mother of all bombs is not nuclear. It's not nuclear at all. But the mother of all bombs is one big bomb." He added "I wouldn't use nuclear. We don't have to," and said he has no plans to send ground troops. If the MOAB story was wrong, he would say so, and instead he explained what the weapon is. That's confirmation. So the “fireworks show” is on the menu and the president is now describing the fireworks. What’s missing from the picture is Iran’s response, because if the plan assumes Tehran will absorb a MOAB strike and let America walk away without answering, somebody has been watching the wrong war for seven months. 🇺🇸 Trump says THE ONLY THING they can impeach him for is making the country REALLY STRONG 😅 Can you imagine that moment? Democrats in the House chamber, solemn faces, one reading the articles aloud while the other side tries not to laugh. “Article I: He made the economy too strong. Article II: He made the military too effective. Article III: He made energy too cheap.” I wanna watch that session so bad 😂 Writer: Lucas t.co/vQKYWjQzoF

🇸🇦🇾🇪 Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline is reportedly shut with 4 pumping stations knocked out... and the repair clock may run years, not months Riyadh built that line as the escape hatch for when Hormuz closes, and if it is down, the kingdom can't move crude by sea or by pipe. Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson says an analyst he follows has pushed the repair estimate from five years to seven to ten, against Aramco's own two-year figure, and that Treasury is watching for the next move: "They'll have little choice. And that's one of the things keeping Scott Bessent up at night." A kingdom that can't sell oil starts selling US debt to cover the gap, so the pressure on Riyadh to cut a deal with the Houthis now comes from Washington's bond desk as much as its war room. @WeTheBrandon @NewSonof

🇸🇦 🇾🇪 🇺🇸 Daily news recap: Sending Saudi Arabia's regular army into Yemen's mountains could end with the Saudi regime itself falling. The Houthis claim they hit a Saudi Eurofighter, a great plane that was never meant for close air support, while the US has A10 Warthogs built for exactly that job sitting around waiting to be retired. The fighters Riyadh really needs are the combat ready veterans MBS pushed out because he saw them as a threat to his rule: "Sending in a regular armed force from Saudi Arabia will lead to a disaster." Whatever Riyadh decides, the US has every reason to stay out of the middle of this fight. @WeTheBrandon
