🇺🇸 Trump has ordered a White House investigation into allegations that former Kennedy Center chief Ric Grenell failed to deposit nearly $6 million intended for the institution.
Former Trump attorney Alina Habba reportedly told the president that her billionaire husband, Turkish businessman Turhan Mildon, had provided the money through a business arrangement involving Grenell.
However, Kennedy Center records show no trace of the alleged donation, only a separate $270,000 pledge.
Grenell has denied the accusations, calling them "absurd" and a "lie."
The dispute comes after relations soured between the former allies, whose business and diplomatic interests previously overlapped in Venezuela.
White House lawyers are now seeking evidence to determine whether the money was ever transferred and where it went.
