🇦🇱 In TIRANA, ALBANIA, protests over education costs and bleak job prospects have erupted into clashes with police.
Bricks and concrete blocks were thrown at the Education Ministry. Police responded with tear gas and water cannons, detaining several demonstrators.
But one protester's words capture just how deep the anger runs:
“What Albania needs is a revolution, a change, a complete overthrow of the system because it can't go on like this.”
And this isn't happening in isolation.
Students in France have been blockading schools for weeks, while similar frustrations have spilled onto the streets elsewhere in Europe.
A generation is being told education is its ticket to a better future, while increasingly questioning whether that promise still means anything.
