The Maldivian Embassy notified families after the men were taken into custody last Saturday. They are among the newest of 6 Maldivian pilots at the airline and had workplace contact with the Omani co-pilot who attacked the captain of Flight 1073, in an attempt to crash that plane on Sept 30. Former gang leader Duane "Keffe D" Davis was convicted of first-degree murder in August and is scheduled to be sentenced TODAY, bringing one of hip-hop's most notorious cold cases (nearer) to a close. The killing followed a confrontation at the MGM Grand casino on September 7, 1996, when Tupac and members of his entourage beat Davis' nephew. Hours later, Davis and 3 associates tracked down Tupac and record executive Suge Knight in his BMW 750iL. Davis admitted passing a gun to the backseat before someone opened fire, hitting Tupac 4 times. Davis was arrested in 2023 after years of publicly discussing his involvement, including in a memoir that helped prosecutors build their case. In 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, the West slapped sanctions on Moscow, and Brent rocketed back up to $133. Now it's climbing again, with Brent settling at $106.65 yesterday and WTI at $93.74, as the Iran war drags on, the Strait of Hormuz stays under blockade and Houthi missiles rain down on Saudi Arabia.
