🇺🇸 What if AI could compress 100 YEARS of scientific progress into just 10?
Fmr. Google employee Tristan Harris told Tucker that the race to build artificial general intelligence (AGI) is driven by the promise of almost UNLIMITED technological power.
He compared AI to the ring from Lord of the Rings, giving whoever controls it an enormous advantage in science, cybersecurity, and military technology.
But Tucker asked: After decades of technological progress, are people actually HAPPIER?
He pointed to depression, suicide rates, and declining marriage rates, arguing that life was better before the internet took over.
“If we've spent 35 years watching people suffer under the yoke of technology, why would you want to accelerate its development?”

@MarioNawfal Yes, ppl are happier with tech progress (ask them if they would like to die of now-curable illnesses).
What they are not happy with is this totally skewed distribution of wealth. t.co/P4AlFgClWl
