🇸🇦🇾🇪 MBS is reportedly moving between bunkered palaces as Houthi missiles keep slipping through Riyadh's air defenses Saudi Arabia is reportedly short on interceptors and investigating how a barrage got through to Riyadh's airport, while MBS reportedly moves between bunkered palaces. Abdullah Alaoudh, the Saudi dissident lawyer who worked with Jamal Khashoggi, says MBS stripped away the old royal checks and balances, so the kingdom now rests on ONE man and an army kept weak by design to block coups. Abdullah says the kingdom's founder, King Abdulaziz, warned his sons never to cross into Yemen: "Yemen is a mountain. Those who go there do not come back alive." Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan have all turned down MBS's requests for ground troops, he says. Expect Washington to keep nudging Riyadh toward a deal with the Houthis, because nobody is lining up to fight this war for him. @aalodah

🇮🇷🇴🇲 Iran has reportedly launched 6 ATTACKS on ships in the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman over the past 24 HOURS. If confirmed, this would be the HIGHEST number ever recorded by UKMTO. Flows through Hormuz were already down to 14.6 million barrels a day in Q1 from 20.4 million a year earlier, and Kpler counted seven ships a day last Tuesday. Six attacks in 24 hours pushes that toward zero. Canada is the only G7 country with no strategic reserve, and the east coast still imports crude. Thanksgiving is a good day to notice.

🇺🇸🇷🇺🇺🇦 Trump’s team thinks a Russian diesel deal could get Putin back to peace talks. Witkoff and Kushner told Ukraine that with the diesel deal done, and Ukraine laying off Russian refineries, the U.S. can go back to Putin and say, “Now it’s your turn to do something.” With this deal, Russia gets to sell more than 2.25 million barrels of diesel, which Trump says will lower fuel prices, though it’s less than a day’s worth for U.S. transport. Zelensky isn’t convinced, calling it a “gift to Putin,” and a source close to the Kremlin says Putin won’t talk until he gets the rest of the Donbas. So Russia gets the cash, its demands haven’t budged, and maybe it really is a gift to Putin. Source: Reuters / Writer: Daniyal

🇺🇸 Pennsylvania has lost a 6th person to measles in less than 2 months. This time it was a 39-year-old woman who hadn’t been vaccinated. She already had health problems, and doctors think the measles likely pushed her heart over the edge. It’s the state’s worst outbreak in 30 years, with 1,136 confirmed cases, and the people who’ve died include 2 babies and an 18-year-old. And doctors fear it’s much bigger than it looks. Measles usually kills 1 or 2 people out of every 1,000 it infects, so 6 deaths suggests closer to 6,000 people have caught it. The saddest part is that almost all of them weren’t vaccinated, against a disease 2 shots can protect you from for life. Source: NBC News / Writer: Daniyal

🇺🇸🇪🇺🇮🇷 29 countries have now jointly condemned Iran over alleged assassination plots, sabotage, cyberattacks and other covert operations. There may be another layer to that sudden unity. Europe is increasingly dependent on Washington, from Russia policy to energy, and he suspects governments may be lining up behind Trump because they need American support elsewhere. “If they think he wants their help in Iran... they will toe the line.” Brandon doesn’t deny that Iran has extensive covert networks abroad. What he questions is whether every recent allegation fits a coherent Iranian strategy, particularly claims involving attacks on Jewish targets in Europe. His suspicion is that the diplomatic groundwork for something larger may already be forming. Not necessarily because Europe wants another war. Because it may feel it cannot afford to tell Washington no. @WeTheBrandon

As a Gulf citizen, I believe the security and stability of our region must remain a top priority. The Gulf must not become an arena for settling scores between major powers. We reject any threat to our security, whether it comes from Iran or any other party, and firmly believe that sovereignty, respect for neighbors, and non-interference in internal affairs are the foundations of sound relations. We do not support war; we support peace built on deterrence, mutual respect, and clear evidence, free from political pressure that could push our region into another conflict—one whose price would ultimately be paid by our people. 🇧🇭🇸🇦🇦🇪🇰🇼🇶🇦🇴🇲

🇸🇦🇾🇪 Saudi Arabia’s decision to restart the fight with the Houthis may have been driven by something we still haven’t seen. The strike that reignited the conflict looked wildly disproportionate to the immediate trigger. So Riyadh might have been acting on pressure or encouragement from its partners. Saudi Arabia may have assumed that if it moved, the U.S. and others would firmly back it. Instead, once the Houthis retaliated, that support suddenly looked a lot thinner. This theory is still speculative. But if it’s right, the real story may not be why Saudi Arabia attacked... but who convinced MBS he wouldn’t be left alone afterward. @WeTheBrandon

🇸🇦 The real Saudi crisis isn’t about the missiles alone, but the interceptors too. If Riyadh is genuinely running low, then MBS being moved between bunkers stops sounding like tabloid drama and starts sounding like basic survival. Saudi Arabia may be entering a new reality where critical infrastructure, airports and even the royal leadership itself remain permanently exposed. And the part that worries most is that the U.S. may not have enough interceptors in reserve to bail the kingdom out. 🇮🇷🇺🇸 Is Iran really losing control of the Strait of Hormuz, or are we being misled about how much oil is getting through? I've been trying to understand something that doesn't quite add up. Iran has demonstrated that it can strike commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Yet shipping data suggests millions of barrels of oil are still leaving the Gulf every day. So I brought maritime expert Sal Mercogliano and economist Philip Pilkington together to challenge each other's conclusions. Sal says the evidence is there. Tankers can be tracked loading, leaving the Gulf and eventually unloading at foreign ports. He estimates nearly 12 million barrels a day were getting through before the latest escalation. Philip doesn't trust those figures. He suspects wartime information management is making the shipping situation look considerably better than it really is. What made the discussion interesting was that they actually agreed on something important. Neither believes the current situation is sustainable. Sal thinks continued Iranian attacks could eventually make tanker operations too dangerous and expensive. Philip believes Iran already has the military advantage in a prolonged war of attrition. And there's another possibility we explored: some shipping companies may be quietly paying Iran for safe passage, although the scale of any such payments remains unverified. We still disagree about the numbers. But the debate left me wondering whether we've been asking the wrong question. Maybe the real issue isn't how much oil America can force through the strait today, but how long it can keep doing so without losing ships, exhausting its resources or accepting Iran's demands. @mercoglianos @philippilk

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich is now saying openly: “I want all of Gaza. I want Gaza to be ours.” And he explains why: “I want it for Zionist reasons.” There's no ambiguity here at all. We should be paying attention to what these officials are actually telling us. Writer: Oliver t.co/oltTjlaCP4

Listen up, you deluded racist savage whose prejudices have grown utterly tiresome to endure. Bezalel Smotrich possesses neither formal authority nor any meaningful influence over the operations, policies, or conduct of the Israel DEFENSE Forces. His outlook arises squarely from the religious Zionist framework he represents, and his position on Gaza has long been public and thoroughly familiar to anyone paying the slightest attention. Raising his recent remarks about annexing Gaza as though they constitute some revelatory development capable of altering the fundamental understanding of the war in Gaza is, in plain terms, groundless nonsense. He will NEVER secure the political power required to achieve any such annexation, and the IDF did not conduct its military operations in Gaza for the past three years with his particular religious convictions in mind, you persistently misguided fool.

🇮🇱🇸🇦🇾🇪 Netanyahu wants Saudi Arabia’s blessing to bomb the Houthis in Yemen. He’s reportedly using U.S. go-betweens to ask Riyadh for permission, a diplomatic source says. The idea is for Israel to join Saudi Arabia’s fight against the Houthis and use it as a step toward normal ties between the 2 countries. But Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman isn’t sold. He’s reportedly worried that teaming up with Israel would go down badly with ordinary Saudis. Israel has bombed the Houthis plenty of times before, but this time it wants a Saudi green light first. For MBS, the Houthis are a big problem, but standing next to Israel at war could be a bigger one at home. Source: JFEED / Writer: Daniyal

@MarioNawfal A President needs to take the popular decision. A Monarch just takes the right decision.

🇮🇱🇵🇸 I genuinely don't understand how a serving Israeli minister can talk about 1.8 million people this way. Bezalel Smotrich says Gaza should be wiped out, while insisting he isn't calling for genocide. And then he describes its population as “1.8 million Nazis.” You can condemn Hamas, defend Israel's right to security and still recognize how disturbing this rhetoric is. 🇺🇦🇷🇺 Ukraine’s strikes on Yandex didn’t make a dent in Russian bot traffic. Ukraine hit 2 Yandex data centers last week, including the hub that runs most of Russia’s top AI model, and some claimed Russian bot traffic had crashed as a result. But Cloudflare, which tracks a huge share of internet traffic, shows automated traffic from Russia barely moved all week. The strikes did real damage to Yandex, they just didn’t switch off the bots as claimed. Source: Cloudflare / Writer: Daniyal
