Lots of people are trying to figure out my position on Yemen and the Houthis
It's simple: Iran, Saudi, and all other big powers should stop interfering in the country, a country that has witnessed hundreds of thousands of dead in the 2015 war
However I know this won't happen. Yemen, like all other defenseless countries that are strategically important, is a battlefield for larger countries to fight for influence
The Saudis cannot afford the Iran-aligned Houthis to control the energy chokepoint of Bab al-Mandab Strait, especially since Iran now controls the Strait of Hormuz
And the Iranians will not abandon their strategically important ally that allows them to project power and control alternatives to Hormuz
The outcome?
Just like I warned months ago, while everyone is worried about a restart of the Iran-U.S. war, my concern is the consequences of it: Proxy conflicts in Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and the Horn of Africa
And this is exactly what we're seeing unfold now in Yemen and Ethiopia.
The Saudi-Turkey-Pakistani axis, the Israel-UAE-U.S. axis, and Iran, will all battle for a new Middle East that will become most unstable than it has been in decades.
Brace yourself

@MarioNawfal Why ignore the sacrifices of Yemenis fighting to free their country from the Houthis and Iranian influence?
Why ignore Saudi Arabia’s support for Yemen’s legitimate government?
Your selective outrage speaks volumes about whose narrative you’re pushing.
