🇫🇷 WTF HAPPENED IN FRANCE?! An absolutely INSANE flash of light appeared above the clouds, looking like some giant alien creature lighting up the night sky. It's believed to be a rare atmospheric phenomenon called a SPRITE, a massive electrical discharge that occurs high above thunderstorms and lasts just milliseconds. These things can stretch for TENS OF KILOMETERS across the sky. Writer: Sol t.co/irZMbf5lOS

South Korea says the missiles traveled more than 900 KM, while Japan detected at least two launches that apparently landed in the sea outside its territorial economic zone. 🇺🇸🇸🇦🇾🇪 Trump is thinking about joining Saudi Arabia's fight against the Houthis, but that could open another can of worms. Saudi Arabia has faced more attacks, including a deadly strike on Riyadh's main airport that killed an American. Trump says the U.S. might join the fight. But there's a catch. Trump already has a ceasefire with the Houthis, and bombing them again could end it, putting American ships back in their sights. The Houthis could also threaten Red Sea shipping, creating another choke point while Hormuz is already in trouble. So Washington might end up with another war on its hands. 🇮🇷 The chaos in Africa, the Red Sea, all of it connects to a single war most people aren't paying attention to. Brandon Weichert says the ripple effects are spreading fast, and the seeds were planted earlier than anyone admits. "The origins, the immediate origins of the war in Iran, you can see the seeds being planted not by Donald Trump, but by Joe Biden and his advisors in Gaza in 2023, in 2024." Conflict is a contagion, and no one is mapping where it spreads next. @WeTheBrandon

🚨 MARIO, THE CHESSBOARD IS BIGGER THAN YOUR MAP! HAMAS. HOUTHIS. Different origins—but both raise the same disturbing strategic questions: WHO FUNDED THEM? WHO BENEFITED FROM THEIR RISE? WHO NEGOTIATES WITH THEM? WHO PAYS THE PRICE? History documents Israel's early tolerance of Islamist groups that preceded Hamas. Iranian support for both Hamas and the Houthis is documented. Washington negotiated with the Houthis through Oman. Saudi Arabia previously hosted Houthi negotiators. NOW PAKISTAN, A RESPONSIBLE NUCLEAR STATE, APPEARS IN YOUR ESCALATION NARRATIVE! WHERE IS THE VERIFIED HOUTHI THREAT AGAINST PAKISTAN? 🇸🇦🇵🇰🇹🇷 What is the strategic purpose of the MAKKAH DEFENCE ALLIANCE if regional security still depends on another American war? And why does Netanyahu, facing an ICC arrest warrant, remain outside judicial custody? As a retired PAF Group Captain and former UN peacekeeper, I ask: WHO BENEFITS FROM DIVIDING THE REGION? WHO CONTROLS THE ESCALATION? WHERE IS THE DIPLOMATIC EXIT? A map is NOT intelligence. Speculation is NOT evidence. Protect Riyadh. Protect Sana'a. Protect Gaza. Protect HUMANITY. ♟️ FOLLOW THE MONEY. 🇬🇧 Britain has 3,369 neighbourhoods where a majority of working-age adults claim out-of-work benefits. But who lives in these areas, and what's driving the numbers? Take Sparkbrook and Balsall Heath East in Birmingham, one of the areas examined by The Telegraph. The 2021 Census puts its population at 47% Pakistani, 12% Bangladeshi and just 9.5% White. Now look at the national employment figures. A third of working-age Pakistanis and Bangladeshis were economically inactive in 2022, compared with 21% of White British people. Among women, the difference was 48% versus 24%. That's a significant demographic disparity, particularly among women, and it deserves serious investigation. But these are population and economic inactivity figures, not a breakdown of actual benefit claimants in those streets. The missing question is how much of the local welfare concentration is explained by longstanding differences in employment patterns, health, household circumstances and access to work. That's the breakdown Britain needs to see. Source: Gov .UK, Office for National Statistics, censusdata / Writer: Oliver

Meta's chief AI officer Alexandr Wang says @ElonMusk taught him something that helped shape Meta's AI strategy You don't necessarily need thousands of engineers to move fast. You need a small group of exceptionally talented people, very little hierarchy, and the freedom to get things done. Wang says he brought that idea to Mark Zuckerberg, who embraced it as a central part of their approach to AI. Meta, a company with enormous resources, is now deliberately borrowing from the way Elon builds small, highly technical teams. At some point, adding more people stops making you faster. And in AI, where the technology can change dramatically in a matter of months, the speed of a decision can matter as much as the resources behind it. Source: @davidsenra / Writer: Oliver

🇺🇸🇮🇷 The U.S. could strike Iran again, but what comes after? We had an interesting conversation with former CIA operations officer Charles Finfrock, who thinks Washington may be preparing another major round of strikes against Iran. And unlike some of my other guests, Charles believes a concentrated 72-hour campaign could do serious damage, especially if coordinated with Israel. He wants the U.S. to target Iran's leadership, military command structure, missile capabilities and the security forces keeping the regime in power. But our disagreement really began when we talked about what happens afterward. Charles believes removing the regime could give Iranians a chance to determine their own future. Yet he also acknowledged that Iran could end up looking like Libya, with prolonged instability and no functioning democracy emerging anytime soon. That admission stuck. We've already seen what happened in Iraq and Libya. Removing a government is one thing. Building something better is quite another. Charles argues that Iran's nuclear ambitions make the risk worth confronting. But Brandon worries that another war could leave us with a fractured country, dangerous weapons in uncertain hands and yet another American commitment we can't easily escape. And perhaps the most revealing part of our conversation was that neither of us could confidently describe what a stable postwar Iran would actually look like. @WeTheBrandon @finfrockcharles

Nearly 900 homes and at least 14 bridges were damaged, and 27 people were hurt. The government has declared a national emergency, and the U.S. is sending $5 million and a rescue team. 🇺🇸🇮🇷 Larry Johnson: The U.S. is preparing for another war, but may not be ready to fight it Something strange is happening in the skies over the Middle East. U.S. refueling aircraft are reportedly moving in numbers reminiscent of the buildup before the last war with Iran. Israeli fighter jets have also reportedly been active near Syrian and Iraqi airspace. So we asked former CIA analyst Larry Johnson whether we're watching the preparations for another attack. His answer surprised us. Johnson thinks renewed strikes are entirely possible, but says the U.S. military isn't showing the level of command mobilization he'd expect before a sustained campaign. And he sees a much bigger problem: America may no longer have the weapons stockpiles to fight the kind of war its leaders are contemplating. Iran, meanwhile, has had months to rebuild its defenses, expand its underground missile capabilities and prepare for another confrontation. Johnson believes even a short American bombing campaign could accomplish very little while inviting a far more damaging Iranian response. That's what's worrying about this buildup. Washington might still have the ability to start another war with Iran. But starting one and controlling what happens afterward are two very different things. @WeTheBrandon @NewSonof

🇺🇸🇮🇷 The U.S. may be trying to provoke Iran into striking first. I found something particularly troubling in my conversation with Alan Eyre, former U.S. diplomat who helped negotiate the Iran nuclear deal. He believes another round of American strikes against Iran is highly likely. But what caught my attention was his theory about how it might begin. With additional U.S. military assets moving into the region and reports of Israeli aircraft operating near Iraqi airspace, Eyre wonders whether Washington is deliberately testing Tehran's nerves. Iran has already been caught off guard twice. Its leadership has made clear it doesn't intend to let that happen again. And that creates a dangerous possibility. What if the military buildup is partly designed to make Iran believe an attack is imminent, pushing Tehran to strike first? Washington could then present its own offensive as retaliation rather than a decision to restart the war. Eyre isn't claiming to know that's the plan. But he sees a serious risk of another conflict, with Israel pursuing regime change and Washington's ultimate objective still unclear. The unsettling part is how easily preparations meant to intimidate an adversary could become the very thing that triggers the next war. @AlanEyre1

It's hard to reconcile those decisions with Netanyahu's condemnation of the violence. And if you're a Palestinian family facing threats and attacks near your own home, you probably care a lot less about what Netanyahu says than what his government actually does. 🇵🇸🇮🇱 Imagine being attacked just for trying to get home. That's what a Palestinian family faced in the West Bank when they encountered young Israeli settlers known as Hilltop Youth. Local resident Hassan Faraj was headbutted in the face and struck again, leaving him with a fractured nose. We're talking about a family trying to reach their own home. Something most of us do every day without a second thought. Nobody should have to wonder whether they'll make it through their own neighborhood without being assaulted. For many Palestinian families in the West Bank this is a daily. Writer: Oliver t.co/u7bxd4dv66
