🇾🇪🇸🇦 The Houthis appear to be tightening their grip on Taiz
The latest battlefield map shows just how much ground Saudi-backed forces may have lost.
According to Islamic World News, Houthi forces have captured Al-Misrakh, including Al-Kalaibah and Najd Al-Qasim, along with the road connecting the district to southern Taiz.
That would leave Saudi-backed forces holding only a narrow stretch of mountainous territory around Jabal Al-Arous and Jabal Al-Sabr south of the city.
And those mountains matter. They overlook important approaches to Taiz, making them valuable defensive positions.
If these territorial claims are confirmed, Saudi-backed forces would be facing an increasingly difficult position on a front they have fought over for years.
The reported advances have not yet been independently verified.

@MarioNawfal If Houthis keep taking Taiz’s highlands, Saudi-backed forces will struggle to hold the city, shifting Yemen’s war toward a prolonged siege. His point of view is also worth considering. @DharmveerDas2
