Lockheed Martin is set to wire the stealthy LRASM onto the bomber, which means every heavy bomber in the Air Force will be able to hunt ships. The missile skims in hard to detect, locks on with an infrared seeker that never broadcasts radar, and can team up with other missiles mid-flight to overwhelm a target’s defenses. All of it is aimed at China’s growing fleet, where one B-52 hanging back hundreds of miles could unload a whole salvo at a carrier group before anyone sees it coming.
