The missile skims in hard to detect, locks on with an infrared seeker that never broadcasts radar, and can team up with other missiles mid-flight to overwhelm a target’s defenses. All of it is aimed at China’s growing fleet, where one B-52 hanging back hundreds of miles could unload a whole salvo at a carrier group before anyone sees it coming.
