It turned to its regional defense partners. Very little arrived. It even went to China, asking Beijing to pressure Iran into restraining the Houthis. And now, according to a report from Al Mayadeen, Saudi has approached the Houthis through Omani mediators seeking a two-week ceasefire. The timing matters. Saudi is also reportedly running low on missile interceptors and has asked Britain, France, Pakistan and Egypt to deploy additional air-defense support. America, its principal military supplier, is facing interceptor pressures of its own after six months of war. So Riyadh now finds itself in an extraordinary position.
