$8.49 diesel in California. $6.59 in Georgia. MTG is right to be sounding the alarm National average hit a record $6.28 this week, up from $3.60 in February This ends up in your grocery bill and it's only going to get worse... It’s time for Republicans to buckle down and get a solution in place for the mid-terms, and beyond. Otherwise, it’s going to be a BLOOD BATH at the polls.

FSD's safer driving is starting to show up on your insurance bill. Score! Zurich Australia is now offering lower premiums for Model 3 and Model Y owners using FSD Supervised. The reason is simple. FSD-engaged driving is showing far fewer collisions across more than 132 million km of supervised use. When the car lowers the risk, the price of owning it should start reflecting that too. @Tesla / Writer: Annette, Grok Imagine Designer: Janné

🇺🇸 California: $8.49. Georgia: $6.59... Same country, same diesel, and two receipts that would have sounded fake a few years ago. MTG’s warning is blunt: this is the start. How long before people stop calling it a “price” and start calling it a crisis? Writer: Val t.co/tHaXjVlPU6

🇺🇸 In 2008, California sold a high-speed rail dream. In 2026, Nick Shirley walked the alignment and called it a $15 billion ride to nowhere. No two cities linked, but the projected cost he puts above $200 billion to finish, and the comparison that makes people furious: China used those same years to lay more than 30,000 miles. He says money went to contractors who couldn’t work, and the route is already colliding with homes and farmland. You can argue his numbers, not the facts: the train was supposed to exist by now. 🇺🇸 The House killed Al Green's impeachment push 232 to 147, with Democrats helping again Forty-seven members voted present in the third failure of Green's effort in two years. He forced this one without leadership backing, over killings by federal immigration officers, and some colleagues told Axios privately it was a distraction with one week of session left before the midterms. Green's answer was that his critics lack the courage to face him. Watch what happens to that math after November 3. Right now Democratic leadership kills these motions because a losing vote becomes a Republican ad in a swing district. Flip the House and the calculation inverts: subpoena power, the gavels on Oversight and Armed Services, and a caucus whose base has spent seven months watching a war nobody voted for. Don't even get me started on GAS PRICES. The Trump team can see that too, which is why the defense is already being built. Impeachment still likely dies in the Senate, so the real damage is two years of hearings, and leaked testimony, straight through the 2028 primaries. Vance and Rubio would run while testifying about this war. That is the real fight Washington is actually preparing for. Source: Axios / Writer: Daniel

🚨🇺🇸 🇮🇷 The Coast Guard and FBI boarded a Texas-bound oil tanker mid-voyage after finding its network may have been compromised... A team of Coast Guard cyber operators, a vessel inspector and FBI Cyber Action Team agents went aboard the foreign-flagged carrier on August 21 before it could reach port, examining both its IT and operational systems and working with the crew to clear the threat. No operational disruption, no danger to crew, no environmental impact. Washington has not named an actor. Iranian media has been bragging about it for weeks. Mehr reported the ship lost communications for 30 hours on August 7 and claimed attackers reached engine-room systems, cut cooling flow and pushed engine speed. Tasnim ran the headline "No American Vessel Is Safe Anymore: Will Cannons Give Way to Codes?" The vessel in those reports is a 333-meter crude carrier that holds 2.3 million barrels, and it was sailing from Egypt's Sidi Kerir terminal, the exact route Gulf oil now takes to avoid Hormuz. 🇬🇷 Ilias Kasidiaris walked out of prison today and immediately announced he is heading back into Greek politics. The former Golden Dawn spokesman and MP was released after serving his sentence, then told supporters he was returning to the “front lines” with plans for a new national party. Golden Dawn was a far-right Greek political party whose leadership was convicted over the group’s criminal activity. He has said he intends to run in Greece’s next general election, although his path back onto the ballot is still legally complicated: Greek law allows parties to be barred if their real leadership is tied to people convicted of serious crimes, and a Kasidiaris-linked party was already blocked on that basis in 2023. Will Greek courts actually let him turn it into an election campaign? Writer: Sol t.co/AkJnKehO7w

🇺🇸🇮🇱 Washington approved $2.8 billion in heavy bombs for Israel tonight, built in the same factories that can't refill America's own magazines The sale went through this evening: 2,000-pound bombs and bunker penetrators, previewed to Congress as a formality. Eli Clifton points to the part nobody mentions. A president can stop a sale with the stroke of a pen, as the first Bush once did, and every shift that fills an Israeli order is a shift not spent refilling arsenals this war has emptied. The pattern runs deeper. Israel enters wars without defining victory and goes as far as it can until Washington says stop. Nobody has said it. And the Abraham Accords, sold as a security architecture, assumed the region's three strongest militaries could do as they pleased. A shut strait, a bombed pipeline and a Saudi collapse in Yemen have answered that. @EliClifton @wethebrandon

🇸🇦🇾🇪 Bab el-Mandeb handles about 12% of world trade, and the Houthis are now reported to hold Mocha and the Hanish Islands on the edge of it. Mocha is a Red Sea port, the Hanish Islands sit near the choke point between Yemen and the Horn of Africa, and together they give an Iran-backed force more say over what floats north toward Suez. Saudi Arabia cannot treat this as one threat: * Close or harass the strait, and energy and container traffic pay. * Hit Aramco sites and airbases inside the kingdom, and the export machine takes damage at the source. * Answer only with jets, and you degrade capabilities without reversing who owns the shore. Airstrikes are good at making a launch site disappear, but they are bad at evicting fighters from towns, ports, and islands. That gap is the whole strategic problem. Zoom out and the stakes leave Yemen. Continued Houthi gains tighten Iran’s hand on a waterway major economies need open, so Washington and Beijing both lose if this becomes a permanent tax on shipping. The question is simple: Can Saudi Arabia live with a hostile coast on Bab el-Mandeb... or does “containment” mean losing the strait in slow motion? Source: DW News YT / Writer: Val

🚨🇺🇸 🇮🇷 America fired 70 Patriots and a dozen THAADs to stop 20 Iranian missiles over Jordan, a week's worth of interceptors in one night U.S. and regional officials tell the Journal the barrage carried warheads that split into multiple projectiles on approach, forcing three or four shots per incoming missile. Jets were still hit. By mid-July the tally was 1,700 Patriots, 200 THAADs and 150 Standard Missiles fired, against Lockheed's record output of 620 Patriots last year. Parnell calls depletion reports completely false. Cooper isn't concerned at all. Trump forwent a two-week strike campaign in July partly over this exact debate. Do the arithmetic. Seventy Patriots at $4 million and twelve THAADs at $12 million is roughly $400 million spent in one evening against missiles Iran assembles from stockpiled parts in tunnels. Iran isn't trying to kill Americans on every salvo. It is trying to empty the magazine, and Fabian Hinz says the cluster warheads are Tehran learning what works. Here is what that does to the options after November. You cannot strike Pickaxe Mountain without absorbing the reply, and each reply costs a week of air defense. Two weeks of strikes means ten salvos means months of interceptors gone, and then bases sit exposed. Trump already blinked at that math once. The next time, the choice is troops without cover or forces pulled back out of range, which is the concession Iran already wrote into the memorandum. Source: The Wall Street Journal / Writer: Daniel
