🇺🇸🇨🇳 The U.S. military has now publicly acknowledged deploying what it describes as space-control weapons in orbit.
Brandon says America’s adversaries should take that capability seriously.
But the bigger danger is what happens after the first satellite is destroyed.
“You could, in the first half hour to an hour of a space war, see the unintended destruction of basically every satellite in orbit.”
That is the nightmare of Kessler syndrome: debris from one destroyed satellite strikes others, generating more debris and potentially creating a cascading failure across orbit.
A war in space might begin with precision weapons, but the debris doesn’t care who fired first.
