🇺🇸🇮🇷 Trump on Iran tonight at the State Dinner: We have militarily defeated that particular opponent. We're never going to let them have a nuclear weapon. "And we're doing a little Middle East work right now, too, if you might know. We're doing very well. We have militarily defeated that particular opponent. Charles agrees with me even more than I do. We're never going to let that opponent ever have a nuclear weapon. They know that, and they've known it right now very powerfully." Trump just declared military victory over Iran in front of King Charles, and dropped the line that Iran will never be allowed to go nuclear, full stop. Iran's "peace proposal" landed on his desk yesterday with everything except the nuclear program included. Tonight he answered it on the record in front of the world.

🇺🇸 Someone shared what a typical 24 hours looks like for Elon: Neuralink until 1AM, xAI immediately after, another meeting at 4AM. Tesla, SpaceX, xAI, Neuralink, X. Now you know how. t.co/kFv13EPeMK

🇺🇸🇬🇧 King Charles gifts Trump the bell from HMS Trump: “If you ever need us… just give us a ring.” “Speaking of submarine alliances, there was one particular AUKUS predecessor launched from a UK shipyard in 1944 that served most of her life attached to the Fourth Submarine Squadron in Australia, playing a critical role during the war in the Pacific. Her name: HMS Trump. So tonight, Mr. President, I’m delighted to present you with the original bell that hung on the conning tower of your valiant namesake. May it stand as a testimony to our nations’ shared history and shining future. And should you ever need to get hold of us… well, just give us a ring.” I mean, at this point, if I were Starmer, I’d just let the King handle the diplomatic affairs.

🇺🇸🇬🇧 Trump on Windsor Castle: "A structure that's so beautiful and so long that it never seemed to end. It was nothing like I've ever seen." Only Trump could review a 950-year-old castle like he's leaving a TripAdvisor five-star😂

🇺🇸🇬🇧 King Charles to Trump: We Tried Remodeling the White House First… in 1814 “On this occasion, I cannot help noticing the readjustments to the East Wing, Mr. President. Following your visit to Windsor Castle last year, I’m sorry to say that we British, of course, made our own small attempt at real estate redevelopment of the White House in 1814.” Yes… he’s joking about the time the British literally burned down the White House.

🇺🇸🇬🇧 Trump’s toast to King Charles: “Here’s to 250 years of freedom.” “I offer a toast to 250 years of American freedom, and very importantly, to a great man, His Majesty King Charles III. Thank you very much.” t.co/9nf48Vq3i7

🇺🇦🇷🇺 Ukraine just hit Russia's Tuapse oil refinery on the Black Sea for the third time in less than two weeks. Putin went on record saying drone strikes on civilian infrastructure are "becoming more frequent" and warned of serious environmental consequences. That's a telling admission. Ukraine's military confirmed this is a deliberate campaign to drain Russian oil revenue and starve the war machine of funding. The irony: Russia calls it an attack on civilians. Ukraine calls it economics. The frequency of these strikes suggests Kyiv is winning that argument on the ground. Source: Reuters

🚨🇺🇸🇬🇧 King Charles called the State Dinner "a very considerable improvement on the Boston Tea Party": "Thank you, Mr. President and Mrs. Trump, for your splendid dinner this evening, which, may I say, is a VERY considerable improvement on the Boston Tea Party." 249 years late, but the British finally landed a clean one back🤣

🚨🇺🇸🇬🇧 King Charles tonight, addressing the WHCD shooting in his toast: "As the words of that famous anthem remind us, 'this is the land of the free, and the home of the brave,' as your own response demonstrates." A moment of grace from the King.

🇺🇸🇬🇧 Trump used part of his State Dinner toast to honor Rory McIlroy's Masters win: "Unconquerable courage." Just the two greatest golfers’ egos in one room.🤣 t.co/dVezg0HFAx

🇺🇸🇬🇧Trump tied British and American greatness to the same DNA: "The same audacity that called a small island kingdom to rule the seven seas, and rule them you did, inspired the children of 13 American colonies to explore a Great Frontier... and settle what was known as the Wild, Wild West." This was Trump at his most romantic about civilization. In a moment when Russia and China are openly courting Iran, when Germany is publicly calling America "humiliated," and when the post-war global order looks shakier than at any point in decades, Trump used a White House dinner to remind everyone watching which two countries built the modern world and which two countries he believes still run it.

🇺🇸 “Tony Playboy,” a gang member who killed 2 people in 1989, got featured on America's Most Wanted, and still wasn't caught. Minh Duy Tung Nguyen, aka "Tony Playboy," somehow stayed off the radar for 37 years. ICE Houston just ended that streak. 37 years on the run. Game over. Source: @DHSgov, @EROHouston

🇺🇸🇬🇧Trump: Our Founders Fought to Reclaim Their Rights, Not Reject Their Heritage “In the eyes of America’s founders, our War of Independence was fought not to reject this heritage, but to reclaim it and perfect it. As Founding Father George Mason wrote: ‘We claim nothing but the liberty and privileges of Englishmen in the same degree as we had still continued among our brethren when we were in Great Britain.’"

🇺🇸🇬🇧 King Charles let the jokes loose at the State Dinner tonight: "Mr. President, you recently said if it weren't for the United States, Europeans would be speaking German. Dare I say, if it wasn't for us, you'd be speaking French." A clean, surgical, very British comeback. The room loved it🤣

🚨🇺🇸🇬🇧 Trump at the State Dinner roasting the Democrats: "He got them to STAND. I've never been able to do it." Watching the "No Kings" caucus rise for an actual king is the kind of footage that ages like wine🤣

🇺🇸🇬🇧Trump: We share a transcendent bond with what Thomas Jefferson called our ‘mother country.’ “Tonight, in return, we are doing something very special as we prepare to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our Declaration of Independence, a very big moment in our country. And it’s only natural that Americans begin this commemoration by paying tribute to the transcendent bond we share with the nation Thomas Jefferson himself once called our ‘mother country.’"

🇺🇸🇬🇧 Trump tonight on the U.S.-UK alliance: "Ours is a treasured friendship, an eternal bond, and a true story of extraordinary heroism and skill. History has known no more powerful force than the combination of American Patriotism and British Pride." A pointed message wrapped in pageantry. With the Iran war stretching the western alliance to its limits and German Chancellor Merz publicly saying the U.S. is being "humiliated," Trump used a state dinner to remind everyone in the room and watching at home which alliance he still considers the bedrock.

🚨🇺🇸🇬🇧 Trump calls Britain "our mother country": "We are really doing something very special, preparing to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our Declaration of Independence, a big time in our country. And it's only natural that Americans begin this commemoration by paying tribute to the transcendent bond we share with the nation that Thomas Jefferson himself called our mother country." A nice circle... From revolution to family reunion in two and a half centuries.

🚨🇺🇸🇬🇧 Trump praised King Charles for pulling off something he says he never could, getting the Democrats to stand. “Charles gave a fantastic speech to a tough place, Congress. He got the Democrats to stand. I’ve never been able to do that. I couldn’t believe it…. That’s a tough place.” The King is having quite the week in Washington.

🇺🇸 A single hailstorm just knocked out power for over 10,000 Springfield, MO residents with no restoration timeline. Tennis ball to baseball-sized hail hit on April 28, with winds up to 70 mph shredding roofs and cars across the city. The north side along I-44 got hit hardest. At least one City Utilities of Springfield region is reporting 100% outages. Crews are still assessing the damage. Source: Springfield Daily Citizen

🇺🇸 The United States continues to maintain a large military presence in the Middle East, yet the long-standing “blood for oil” narrative no longer holds. The strategic rationale has shifted from energy security to geopolitical, make no mistake about it. @jackprandelli t.co/xldLed1SUa

🚨🇺🇸 A new Harvard/Harris poll just showed Americans prefer the economy under Biden over Trump, 52 to 48... That's a number that should set off alarms in the West Wing. Trump campaigned on the economy, won on the economy, and has spent the first months of his second term betting his entire presidency on it. The voters who put him there are now telling pollsters they liked the previous version better. The midterms are six months away... If gas prices keep climbing and grocery bills follow, this 4-point gap won't be the worst number Trump sees this year... it'll be the best one.

🚨🇮🇷 Restarting the war could actually help Iran. Trita Parsi, Quincy Institute, Iran expert, says renewed conflict could restore Iran’s leverage over the U.S. The ceasefire removed that pressure point. @tparsi t.co/Yc5a2MX0NK

🇺🇸🇨🇺 The Senate just voted 51 to 47 to block any debate on a War Powers Resolution that would have forced Congress to approve military action against Cuba. Notable, Fetterman, again, sided with Republicans to kill the bill, while Susan Collins and Rand Paul broke ranks to demand a vote.

🇺🇸🇬🇧 Trump and the King, alongside Melania and Queen Camilla, step into the first full British state dinner at the White House since Queen Elizabeth II’s 2007 visit. Charles, the second British monarch ever to address a joint session of Congress earlier today, joins Trump for a white-tie evening. The menu includes herbs from the White House garden and honey from Melania’s own beehives for dessert.

🇺🇸 Your gas car wastes 70% of its fuel as heat. EVs turn 85-90% of energy into motion. It’s a completely different machine. Tesla owners spend ~70% less on fuel than similar gas cars. The math was always this simple, most people just never saw it. Source: @Tesla, @elonmusk

🇺🇸🇬🇧 Tonight's White House state dinner menu just dropped: Dover Sole Meunière with potato pavé, spring ramps, and snow peas for the main course. Dessert: White House Honey & Vanilla Bean Crémeux, Flourless Chocolate Gâteau, and Crème Fraîche Ice Cream. Why do I feel like I'd still be hungry after?

🚨🇺🇸 The biggest obstacle to a deal may be inside the White House. Trita Parsi, Quincy Institute, Iran expert, says Trump himself has overridden agreements supported by his advisers. It's the inconsistent decision-making that's slowing negotiations. @tparsi t.co/fYHZMALggg
