🇺🇸🇬🇧Trump: We share a transcendent bond with what Thomas Jefferson called our ‘mother country.’ “Tonight, in return, we are doing something very special as we prepare to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our Declaration of Independence, a very big moment in our country. And it’s only natural that Americans begin this commemoration by paying tribute to the transcendent bond we share with the nation Thomas Jefferson himself once called our ‘mother country.’"

🇺🇸🇬🇧 Trump tonight on the U.S.-UK alliance: "Ours is a treasured friendship, an eternal bond, and a true story of extraordinary heroism and skill. History has known no more powerful force than the combination of American Patriotism and British Pride." A pointed message wrapped in pageantry. With the Iran war stretching the western alliance to its limits and German Chancellor Merz publicly saying the U.S. is being "humiliated," Trump used a state dinner to remind everyone in the room and watching at home which alliance he still considers the bedrock.

🚨🇺🇸🇬🇧 Trump calls Britain "our mother country": "We are really doing something very special, preparing to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our Declaration of Independence, a big time in our country. And it's only natural that Americans begin this commemoration by paying tribute to the transcendent bond we share with the nation that Thomas Jefferson himself called our mother country." A nice circle... From revolution to family reunion in two and a half centuries.

🚨🇺🇸🇬🇧 Trump praised King Charles for pulling off something he says he never could, getting the Democrats to stand. “Charles gave a fantastic speech to a tough place, Congress. He got the Democrats to stand. I’ve never been able to do that. I couldn’t believe it…. That’s a tough place.” The King is having quite the week in Washington.

🇺🇸 The United States continues to maintain a large military presence in the Middle East, yet the long-standing “blood for oil” narrative no longer holds. The strategic rationale has shifted from energy security to geopolitical, make no mistake about it. @jackprandelli t.co/xldLed1SUa

🚨🇺🇸 A new Harvard/Harris poll just showed Americans prefer the economy under Biden over Trump, 52 to 48... That's a number that should set off alarms in the West Wing. Trump campaigned on the economy, won on the economy, and has spent the first months of his second term betting his entire presidency on it. The voters who put him there are now telling pollsters they liked the previous version better. The midterms are six months away... If gas prices keep climbing and grocery bills follow, this 4-point gap won't be the worst number Trump sees this year... it'll be the best one.

Charles, the second British monarch ever to address a joint session of Congress earlier today, joins Trump for a white-tie evening. The menu includes herbs from the White House garden and honey from Melania’s own beehives for dessert.

Dessert: White House Honey & Vanilla Bean Crémeux, Flourless Chocolate Gâteau, and Crème Fraîche Ice Cream. Why do I feel like I'd still be hungry after?

🚨🇺🇸 The biggest obstacle to a deal may be inside the White House. Trita Parsi, Quincy Institute, Iran expert, says Trump himself has overridden agreements supported by his advisers. It's the inconsistent decision-making that's slowing negotiations. @tparsi t.co/fYHZMALggg

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 “Maximum pressure” on Iran is backfiring… again. Trita Parsi, Quincy Institute, Iran expert, just dropped a reality check: Iran has adapted to years of U.S. sanctions and blockades. The pain is real, but it’s nowhere near decisive. Instead of forcing collapse or total surrender, the pressure campaign has pushed Iran to build resilience, diversify its economy, and find workarounds: from higher oil exports to stronger alliances. Is Washington repeating the same failed playbook while Tehran keeps adjusting? @tparsi

🚨🇺🇸🇨🇺 BREAKING: U.S. Senate voted 51-47 to block a resolution that would have prevented Trump from launching military strikes on Cuba.
