STUDY: STOOL TRANSPLANT - CURE FOR SYMPTOMS OF PARKINSON DISEASE? A recent study by Ghent University Hospital in Belgium reveals the potential of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) to alleviate symptoms in Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients. The trial, known as the GUT-PARFECT trial, involved early-stage PD patients receiving healthy donor stool transplants via a tube inserted through the nose. Results show significant improvement in motor symptoms after 12 months, indicating the potential of FMT as a viable treatment option.
