JUST IN - WATCH: REPORTER QUESTIONS U.S RESPONSE TO ATTACKS Reporter (Jacqui Heinrich): "The president said that if Iran or its proxies attacked U.S troops, that we would respond. What is he waiting for?" John Kirby: "He did say that" Reporter: "So repeating the warning is the response??" MY THOUGHTS: Iran-backed groups are trying to provoke the U.S, with the intention of slowing support for Israel, and Israel's invasion of Gaza. A calm controlled response from the U.S is what we need, not a heavy-handed response. Showing strength is important, but not at the risk of escalating this war into a dangerous regional conflict.

🚨 JUST IN - U.S QUESTIONS GAZA DEATH TOLL | CONCERNS AROUND FUEL GOING TO HAMAS US State Department: - We cannot trust the numbers announced by Hamas regarding the number of deaths in the Gaza Strip because they mislead the people - We have no independent sources to confirm the death toll in Gaza, and we urge Israel to limit the killing of civilians - We do not believe that Israel is deliberately targeting civilians in Gaza - We hope that Al Jazeera will use reliable sources and not rely on false sources - Israel has concerns about the use of fuel in Gaza for illegal purposes, such as launching rockets - We are trying to speed up the process of checking trucks before they enter the Gaza Strip - We are working to bring fuel into Gaza while ensuring its use for humanitarian purposes - Russia has no constructive role to play in the war between Israel and Hamas - We are against any collective punishment, and we do not believe that this is happening in the Gaza Strip Source: Al Jazeera

James Glynn, a Mosul veteran to advise the Israelis on their military planning. - Biden wants to avoid a hasty Israeli assault that could lead to a prolonged street battle and potentially draw in more parties. - Netanyahu has his own reasons to delay a ground assault. 🇵🇸🇮🇱 Former Israeli UN Ambassador Dan Gillerman referred to Palestinians as "INHUMAN ANIMALS" with no challenge from the Sky News reporter. Either Gillerman misspoke, and meant to refer to Hamas, or he meant what he said. But... EVEN if he misspoke, he is conflating Palestinians with Hamas, and this is dangerous. Conflating the two makes is excusable to kill the 600,000 civilians, half of them under the age of 18, since you are labelling them all as Hamas. Rhetoric is important. One should condemn Hamas, but not condemn all Palestinian people.
