He says Hamas members who broke into Israel were carrying instructions on how to make chemical weapons. Israeli forces claim they discovered the material on the body of a dead fighter in Kibbutz Be'eri. "It's Al Qaeda material. Official Al Qaeda material. We are dealing with ISIS, Al Qaeda and Hamas. This is how shocking the situation is where we're looking at the instructions that are given on how to operate and how to create a kind of non-professional chemical weapon with cyanide."

🚨🚨STATEMENT FROM SECRETARY OF DEFENSE AUSTIN Statement on Steps to Increase Force Posture: Following detailed discussions with President Biden on recent escalations by Iran and its proxy forces across the Middle East Region, today I directed a series of additional steps to further strengthen the Department of Defense posture in the region. These steps will bolster regional deterrence efforts, increase force protection for U.S. forces in the region, and assist in the defense of Israel. First, I redirected the movement of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group to the Central Command area of responsibility. This carrier strike group is in addition to the USS Gerald R. I have also activated the deployment of a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) battery as well as additional Patriot battalions to locations throughout the region to increase force protection for U.S. forces. Finally, I have placed an additional number of forces on prepare to deploy orders as part of prudent contingency planning, to increase their readiness and ability to quickly respond as required. I will continue to assess our force posture requirements in the region and consider deploying additional capabilities as necessary.

🚨TECH CEO RESIGNS OVER ISRAEL 'WAR CRIMES' POST Paddy Cosgrave, Web Summit CEO, resigned after backlash from his Israel ‘war crimes’ post. Paddy initially posted: “I’m shocked at the rhetoric and actions of so many Western leaders & governments, with the exception in particular of Ireland’s government, who for once are doing the right thing. War crimes are war crimes even when committed by allies, and should be called out for what they are.” Two days later, after initial backlash, he posted: "First, what Hamas did is outrageous and disgusting. It is by every measure an act of monstrous evil. Israel has a right to defend itself, but it does not, as I have already stated, have a right to break international law." After receiving more backlash, he apologized, then added: “I also believe that, in defending itself, Israel should adhere to international law and the Geneva Conventions – ie not commit war crimes. This belief applies equally to any state in any war. No country should breach these laws, even if atrocities were committed against it.” This wasn't enough to win over key sponsors, including Google and Stripe, who boycotted the event due to the earlier comments. Paddy has now resigned.
