🚨 JUST IN: The Iraqi Parliament: has called for the activation of the Arab Defense Treaty in response to the ongoing Israeli actions in Gaza. What is the Arab Defense Treaty? The Arab Defense Treaty was established in 1950, bringing together several Arab nations with the shared aim of promoting collective defense in the event of aggression against any member state. When this treaty is invoked, it could lead to collective military action, similar to NATO, with other member states offering military support, such as troops, equipment, or logistical assistance. What Are the Consequences? It's important to note that this treaty has seen limited use in the past and remains untested. Largely rooted in a Pan-Arab ideology, which was more influential at the time than it is today, it only underwent further development in 1961 with the proposal of the Joint Arab Command (JAC) as a unified military command for the Arab League. Currently, the treaty holds more symbolic significance than practical military utility.

🚨BREAKING: FRANCE WANTS TO CENSOR HAMAS CHANNEL Earlier today, Meta deleted the largest Palestinian news page, Quds News Network, after operating for more than 10 years. Now, the French Broadcasting Company "Eutelsat" made a request to ban Hamas’ Al-Aqsa Channel from all media. Hamas just put out a statement “strongly opposing the block”, calling it a deliberate attempt to prevent information about what’s happening in Gaza from reaching citizens in France. They call this a “deliberate Zionist actions against media covering Gaza's atrocities.” This is tricky. I’ve always opposed censorship, however Hamas is considered a terrorist organization in France. On the flip side, there is almost no media coverage in Gaza, so who can tell their side of the story and report on what's happening on the ground? Is it fair to censor the Al-Aqsa Channel, or should people have access to all media and decide which to consume?

Is this censorship, or warranted?

🚨BREAKING: Iran sent a message to Israel via the UN stressing that it does not want further escalation in the Hamas-Israel war, but that it will have to intervene if the Israeli operation in Gaza continues. MY THOUGHTS: Iran getting involved is a red line no one should want to cross, unless you're Senator Graham. It seems the world is trying to de-escalate, and trying to figure out how far Israel should go in response to the attacks by Hamas. Where should the world draw the line on what an appropriate response should be? Or, the more important question, where does IRAN draw that line? Source: Axios
