The dam supplied water to Crimea as well as the Russian controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant. To get an idea of the size of the dam, the volume of water it holds is similar to that of The Great Salt Lake in Utah. Multiple houses are being evacuated as towns near the dam begin to flood. Images from Nova Kakhova show buildings surrounded by floodwaters and even swans paddling around a local government office. The damn is important for various reasons: - Holds reservoirs of water for multiple communities - Provides cooling water to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station - Carries water to Russian-occupied Crimea Ukraine and NATO blame Russia for this attack, claiming it’s an attempt to slow a Ukrainian counter-attack that would use the road above the dam. The mayor of Nova Kakhovka claims it's a Ukrainian ‘terrorist attack’. Russia has previously carried out several attacks on dams throughout the war. Secretive UK Gov Agency Worked With Meta/Twitter/Google To Censor Lockdown Discussions A secretive government agency called the ‘CDU’ (Counter-Disinformation Unit) worked with social media companies in order to suppress discussions on Covid lockdowns. The CDU specifically targeted those critical of lockdown measures and mass vaccination for children. The CDU also operated within the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and had the power to request content removal from social media platforms. Multiple MP’s have come out and spoken against this government agency and likened it’s actions to that of the Chinese Communist Party, however the UK government defended it’s actions as protecting public health and national security, denying any involvement in the removal of specific posts by the named individuals. The report by The Telegraph also mentions a Counter-Disinformation Policy Forum involving government officials, big tech companies such as Facebook and Google, and the BBC, aimed at limiting the spread of COVID-19 disinformation. Did governments really do this for the GREATER GOOD? Or is the West becoming more and more like China?
